New Year's Eve Parties in the Traverse City, Michigan Area

Ring in 2009 at a New Year's Eve party in Traverse City, Michigan and the larger northwestern Michigan area.

Grand Traverse Resort and Spa is offering two New Year's Eve parties. The first party is the Aerie New Year's Eve 2009 Party. It is being held in the Aerie Restaurant on the 16th floor. Reservations are required. Call (231) 534-6800 to reserve your table. They are offering a 4 course menu for $75 (beverages, tax and gratuity are not included). The entertainment for the evening will be provided by Mac Daddy from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. consisting of alluring dance tunes. If you wish to come only for the entertainment, you may do so after 10 p.m. for a $10 fee. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to attend.

The second party offered by Grand Traverse Resort and Spa is, A Motown Celebration, in the Governors' Hall. The party begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails (cash bar). A New Year's Eve Dinner Buffet will be served from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. They will feature live music by the Simone Vitale Band. The band will play from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. It is not a black tie event, but they are requesting proper attire. The Resort is offering a New Year's Eve Package starting at $229 (based on double occupancy). This package includes accommodations for one night -- December 31, 2008, the concert tickets, one New Year's Eve Dinner Buffet per person, a champagne toast at midnight and a $15 Casino eCredit per room. The New Year's Eve Snowball Celebration, is hosted by the Great Wolf Lodge. It is being held in the Conference Center with, DJ DomiNATE, featuring a Princes, Princesses and Dragons theme from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. They are also hosting, The Western New Years Celebration, in the Grand Lobby with the, Triple Shot Band, featuring a Cow Boys, Cow Girls and Horses theme from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Both parties will offer a balloon drop, sparkling toasts and big screen televisions to view the countdown to the New Year. There are family game rooms with kids karaoke, face painting, crafts, bingo and Josh the Amazing Magician from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The New Years Eve Buffet will be served from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Call 1-866-478-9653 or (231) 941-3600 to make reservations. A little further north you will find Shanty Creek Resort and Club celebrating with three parties. They offer, Midnight at the Mountain, an adults only (21 years and over) party at Ivan's. They will feature WyzBang, a classic rock 'n' roll band. The party runs from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. There is a $15 cover charge. There will be a cash bar open throughout the evening. Lasso in the New Year, is a party for guests 18 years of age and up in the Grand Ballroom at Lakeview Hotel. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. There is a $30 charge with reservations made in advance. You can dance to the lively music of the Tin Horse Band and be entertained by comedian Tim Bedore. There will be fireworks and a champagne toast at midnight. They encourage dressing western for the occasion. Arnie's Game Party, at Summit Village, is open for the whole family to attend. There is a $15 charge for adults and children over 3 years of age. Doors open at 8 p.m. A DJ will play hot dance tunes. They offer face painting,crafts and board games for your entertainment.
