Once it is, done simply set it on the buffet with the rest of the food and allow people to help themselves. Add a bowl of the tortilla chips and a stack of plates near by.

This is great to use at New Years Eve or any party as it allows the guests to get hidden servings of vegetables, protein and of course some dairy products while still maintaining that snack idea so many people love.

Here's is what is needed, one can of refried beans, a pound of hamburger, one taco seasoning packet, 2 cups or a medium size jar of salsa, 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, 2 cups of sour cream, 1 ripe tomato chopped, a small can of black olives and of course a few bags of the tortilla chips.

Simply fry up the hamburger and once it is all browned, drain the grease off it and add in the taco seasoning, and refried beans. Once it is finished, cooking spread it out in the bottom of a 9 by 11 pan. A glass-baking pan is better but its fine in a cake pan of the same size. A glass-baking pan is great to use as it allows the guest to see its many colorful layers.

Now layer the salsa on top of the meat. The salsa can be two cups of salsa that is homemade or the prepared type you can purchase at the local grocery store. It's better to use a mild heat salsa as not everyone enjoys hot salsa.

Top that salsa with the sour cream and then top it with shredded cheddar cheese and sprinkle the pieces of chopped tomatoes and black olives pieces on top.

Although this article is geared towards New Years Eve snacks, remember it is good for any type of party including Fourth of July, Graduation, Retirement, Birthdays, or go away parties. This one snack usually goes first because people seem to love it.
