New Year's Eve Tempe Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Block Party Preview

If you live in the Phoenix/Tempe area or are looking to travel somewhere fun this New Year's, then the place to celebrate your New Year's Eve this year is at the New Year's Eve Tempe Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Block Party. Named by USA Today as one of the top 10 places in America to ring in the New Year, The Fiesta Bowl Block Party, the location of Arizona's official midnight countdown, has something for everyone. Bring friends, bring family, join the crowd of 100,000 and enjoy this one of a kind New Year's experience!

The Fiesta Bowl Block Party is held in Downtown Tempe in the Mill Avenue District and Tempe Beach Park from 4pm to 12:15am on New Year's Eve December 31, 2007. Tickets to this event are $15 with a Fry's VIP card at Fry's Food and Drug Stores or $20 online (www.insightbowl.org) or at the gates. Access points for this event are at Rio Salado Parkway and Ash Avenue, Rio Salado and Mill, Ash and Fifth Street, Myrtle and Fifth, and Mill and University.

While this event is an amazing experience, fighting for a parking spot with 100,000 other people may be tough. For the best parking take advantage of the special park-and-ride shuttle that will be operating from Grace Community Church (northwest corner of Southern Avenue and Dorsey Lane) and the Pyle Center (southwest corner of Southern Avenue and Rural Road). The shuttles will be leaving from both of these locations every 10 minutes from 4pm to 11pm. Return shuttle services will run until 2am. The cost for the shuttle is $2 roundtrip and children under 6 ride for free.

Get to the Fiesta Bowl Block Party early because there are tons of events to partake in. If you're bringing the kids, don't miss the Kids Area that will be set up at the Tempe Beach Park. From 4pm to 10pm, kids ages 2-12 can enjoy over 20 carnival rides as well as many activities including stick horse riding, hat and mask decorating, a sandbox and a sports area with football, basketball, hula hoops, ring toss, bean bag toss, soccer, horseshoes, bowling and more!

There are many events for the older crowd as well! Don't miss the dueling pianos and the freestyle motorcross jumpers. Also new to 2007, the Block Party will feature an Air Guitar stage and Competition, Legends of Rock Lane & Lounge and Americana Cantina. In addition, live musical entertainment will be provided by more than 40 local bands on 11 stages spread throughout the Mill Avenue District and Tempe Beach Park. The Fiesta Bowl Block Party's featured headliner for 2007 is Barenaked Ladies.

If you're coming for the duration, there will be many food vendors spread throughout both the Mill Avenue District and Tempe Beach Park so take advantage of these delicious eats! Fireworks displays will be held at both 10pm and midnight! The countdown to 2008 will be held at the main stage which will be located in Tempe Beach Park.
