Circle Icebreaker
This is a great game at the beginning of the game. Ideally, you should have equal numbers of men and women. It offers your guests a great way to get to know each other in a short period of time.
Rules:
1.) All the guests must form 2 circles with the women on the inside facing outward and the men on the outside facing inward. So they men and women should face each other.
2.) Start the music and your guests will move in opposite directions with the women moving clockwise and the men counter clockwise.
3.) After about 25 seconds, stop the music and the circles should stop moving.
4.) They form pairs and your guests can introduce themselves to the person standing in front of them. Give everyone 1 min. for the introductions total.
5.) Go back to step 2 and keep going until everyone has introduced themselves.
Musical Chairs
It may seem like a children's game but adults love to play it just as much as kids. Many adults have great memories of this game and the spirit of competition can get anyone excited.
We all know the rules but just in case, here is a refresher:
1.) Count the number of people who are attending the party.
2.) Put out enough chairs facing outward for everyone but one person.
3.) Play music while your guests walk around the chairs in unison.
4.) Suddenly stop the music after a random period of time.
5.) Everyone must grab a chair as quick as possible.
6.) The person without a chair is eliminated from the game.
7.) Remove a chair and go back to step 3.
8.) Keep going until there is only one winner.
Breakout Dance
This is a dancing game that should get everyone involved. Ideally, you should have equal numbers of ladies and gentlemen who are physically capable of dancing.
Here are the rules:
1.) Start out with 1 couple and they go to the center of the room.
2.) Turn on some soft music so they dance together slowly.
3.) After 2 minutes, change the song.
4.) At the change, the couple must split up and ask another person to dance.
5.) Go back to Step 2 and keep going until everyone is out on the dance floor.
Remember that the most important thing about party games is to have fun and to enjoy each other's company. It also helps to provide a good prize to each winner because it seems to bring out the best in people.

Post a CommentAwww! This would be fun - but it's just going to be me and Nic tonight. We don't even have cable - I wonder if I can watch the ball drop on the internet? I'll probably be on Netwinner for the promotion tonight - going through each of our accounts and taking advantage of the mega multipliers.
