Propose When the Ball Drops on New Year's
If you are planning on a New Year's wedding proposal, one of the best times to propose is when the ball drops in Times Square. Since your girlfriend will most likely to be expecting the traditional New Year's Eve kiss, she won't know what hit her when you get down on one knee and propose. It is always very exciting when the ball drops at midnight on New Year's, but it will be even more exciting with a wedding proposal!
Plan a Getaway Together for New Year's to Propose
Most couples go to a New Year's party, to the bar, or even stay at home to watch the ball drop. Why not start a new tradition and plan a getaway? Consider a stay in a log cabin, where you can cozy up in front of a warm fireplace. If this idea isn't too appealing, you might consider a beach or island getaway for New Year's. No matter what the case is, this can be an ideal option if you want the wedding proposal to be a memorable experience.
Propose While Sharing Your New Year's Resolutions
Before New Year's, agree that you will both make resolutions this year. Be sure to make a few "real" New Year's resolutions - and let the last one that you read lead to your proposal. While some couples may choose to do this at a party in front of friends and family, consider doing it when you're alone if your girlfriend would prefer a more private proposal.
Traditional Restaurant Proposal Idea for New Year's
Restaurant wedding proposals are very common. While some think they are too cliché, other women prefer them. There is no reason you can't go out to a fancy restaurant where you will propose before attending a New Year's party where you can share the news. Be sure to make reservations in advance as some restaurants get very crowded during the holiday season.
Winter Proposal Ideas to Consider for New Year's
Be sure to take the winter season into consideration for your wedding proposal. Writing "Marry Me" in the snow or going for a horse-drawn sleigh ride past the place where you first met can all be good ideas for proposing on New Year's. Visit this article for more winter proposal ideas.
Keep in mind that there are hundreds of ways you can propose. The most important thing is to make sure that your wedding proposal comes from the heart.
