New York is the talk of the country when it comes to New Year's Eve and Times Square. Everyone who watches the count down watches it usually on TV at Times Square. Wouldn't you like to be in Times Square at a great restaurant on New Year's Eve waiting for the big ball to come down signaling that we have gone into the next new year? Not sure where to go? Now you have 10 excellent choices.

Frankie and Johnnies
- This classic steakhouse opened in 1926 is located at 269 West 45th Street and offers a variety of huge steaks, chicken as well as fish. One of Frankie and Johnnies signature dishes is, yea you guessed it, the T-bone steak cooked just the way you want it. Frankie and Johnnie is open from 4 pm-11:30 pm, Mon, noon -11:30 pm Tues-Sat.. To make reservations please call 212-997-9494. Cost of an average sit down is around $45.00. You can also visit their website at frankieandjohnnies.com.

Cafe Un Deux Trois
- With great foods such as Escargots De Bourgogne (snails) or your classic breaded chicken strips with dipping sauce, Cafe Un Deux Trois located at 123 West 44th Street can either be a simple or a prestigious lunch or dinner. For a fun twist, crayons are provided and you and your guests are encouraged to color on the tablecloths. Hours of operation are from Noon-11pm , Noon-midnight Tues & Thurs.-Fri , 11:30 am - midnight Wed, 11 am - midnight Sat., 11am -11pm Sun.. To make reservations, please call 212-354-4148. Cost of your average meal is around $30.00.

The Edison Cafe, located in the Hotel Edison at 228 West 47th Street is one the most cheapest and quickest restaurants/deli's in the Times Square area. Although The Edison Cafe only takes cash, the potato pancakes are something you will never forget and the blintzes will blow your mind. All deli items can be bought and eaten on the spot, reservation should be made for the dining area by calling 212-840-5000.

The Yankee Doodle Cafe , located at 530 Seventh Avenue offers a combination of all American sandwiches and a little extra. With sandwiches like tuna salad on rye, or even smoked turkey on a croissant, you cannot help but feel like an American when eating at this lovely cafe. Hours of operation are Mon-Fri from 5:00 am - 7:00 pm. No reservations are needed, however if you want to call in for take out, please call 212-944-7165. Cost of the average meal is around $10.00.

The Palm Restaurant Westside, located at 250 West 50th Street, offers a wide variety of excellent food such as Jumbo Lump Crab, Calamari Special, Clams Casino, Clams on the half shell and much much more for a great price. The Palm Restaurant Westside is open daily from 11:30am-11:30pm. Reservations are not needed, however it is always good to call, 212-333-7256. Cost of average meal is around $45.00.

City Lobster and Crab Company, located at 121 West 49th Street, offers a unique setting of red leather booths and wooden lights through out the dining area. City Lobster and Crab Company is one of New York's finest seafood restaurants that offers fresh crab, fish, shrimp, shellfish and amazingly tasty lobster. In addition to this wonderful array of seafood, also offered is steak dishes and a full raw bar. The restaurant is open from Sun-Thurs. 11:30 am - 10:00 pm and Fri.-Sat. 11:30 am - 11:00 pm. Reservation can be made by calling 212-354-1717. Cost of average meal is around $40.00.

Sukhothai West, located at 411 West 42nd Street, offers one of the best Thai food I personally have ever had. And since I love very spicy food, this is definitely the restaurant to go to. Along with the traditional taste of Thai food, Sukhothai West offers frog legs, pork plates, beef plates and some really great stuffed shrimp that will make you want to come back for more. Sukthothai West is open on Mon. from 12 pm-9:30 pm., Tues-Thurs. from 12 pm - 12 am, Fri. from 4 pm-12 am, and Sun from 4 pm-9:30 pm. Reservations can be made by calling 212-947-1930. Cost of average meal is $60.00.

California Burrito, located at 625 Eighth Avenue, and offers some of the best burritos in all of New York. California Burrito only accepts cash, but is well worth the hassle of using your plastic. Along with burritos and quesadillas, California Burrito also offers a wide variety of wraps and pureed fruit drinks. Hours of operation are from 11am -9pm Mon-Fri. and 11am -5:00 pm Sat -Sun. Reservations are not required.

Grand Central Oyster Bar & Restaurant, located at Grand Central Station the lower level has a 90 year history and will not make you broke when your finished with your meal. With Oysters , oysters and even more oysters cooked every way you can possibly think, Grand Central Oyster Bar and Restaurant is definitely the place you DO NOT want to miss if you are in the area. Hours of operation are Mon-Fri 11:30 am - 9:30 pm, and 12:00 pm - 9:30 pm on Sat.. Reservations can be made by calling 212-490-6650

There you have it... Some of the best expensive and cheap restaurants that will be open on New Year's Eve in Times Square. Enjoy and remember to try things you have yet to try. New York is waiting for you.
