New Year's Party - Whiskey Drinks

For a classy, sophisticated New Year's Party, a Perfect Manhattan is a good choice. For each drink, you will need:

-1 1/2 ounces of bourbon

- 2 teaspoons of dry vermouth

- 2 teaspoons of sweet red vermouth

Stir the above ingredients with ice and then strain into the drinking glass. This drink I best served in a cocktail glass.

If you want a fun drink for your New Year's Party, impress your attendees with a Mint Julep. You will need:

- mint leaves

- 2 teaspoons of water

- 2 teaspoons of sugar syrup

- 1 1/2 ounces of bourbon

- maraschino cherry for garnish

In a rocks glass, crush the mint and then add the water and sugar syrup and stir. Fill the glass with crushed ice and top the glass off with bourbon. Cherry on top!

A Godfather is a sweet short drink. All you need is:

- 1 and ¾ ounces of bourbon

- ¾ ounce of amaretto

Mix in a glass with ice, and you're done.

For an even easier drink, pour scotch over ice!

You can make your New Year's Eve party more festive by using special glasses, decorative picks for your garnishes, and by serving hors d'oeuvres and desserts. Chocolate and strong cheeses go very well with Whiskey.
