I find diet is key to feeling good. I need a high protein diet and less sugar and to get more fiber. I try to get more veggies and I have even gotten some fruits and other foods that are considered, "Healing foods of the bible" Including, apples, apricots, barley, grapes, beans and rice, nuts, cheese, chicken, and everything else that needs to be eaten to maintain a healthy heart and body. I feel that vitamins are very important too.
I find that exercise is also key to good weight maintenance. I don't want to starve myself. And exercise helps you feel good by releasing endorphin and serotonin. And it helps balance your mood. Exercise increases your metabolism and can help you recuperate from Anorexia without starving yourself anymore. I find that exercise is good for the brain and body as well keeping you sharp and can help cure brain damage as long as you get enough food.
Meditation has made it possible for me to maintain my weight. I find spirituality has given me comfort despite being alone all the time and not feeling understood. I listen to a CD by Kelly Howell, and it has helped me achieve weight loss. It helps me dream new dreams and helps me have a deeper faith and love of others.
Also positive thinking is very important. I can't help what is going on in the economy. I can't help if people have lost faith. I can only do my best and try to be a Christian and pursue my dreams. I used to weigh 64 lbs more and now that I have lost it, I feel better in everyway. Now I just need to have faith in keeping it off. I don't know if I'll ever make a lot of money, but I feel good anyway.
I also journal. It keeps me focused on losing weight and makes me feel good. I have written about my weight loss and it helps me work through my feelings. It helps me think clearer and has helped me overcome a lot. I can't say it will help everyone, but it has definitely helped me a lot.
I intend to keep off the 64 lbs I lost and maybe even more will be lost. I want to be healthy and happy. Not model thin. I find trying to look like a model is unrealistic and unhealthy. But I do want to continue to work hard on keeping off the weight, and hopefully stay healthy for a long time.
