New Year's Resolutions for 2010

AC Writers Share Their Goals for 2010

Bobbi Leder
The New Year is just one month away and that means it is time to think about your New Year's Resolutions. Whether you make the same one every year and break it by mid-January or you do not make them at all, perhaps 2010 should the year you set goals for yourself instead of resolutions. It could be a work goal, a relationship goal, or even a goal to do more volunteer work; whatever resolution you choose, make sure it is something you are passionate about. That way your chances of sticking to it will be greater. Listed below are the New Year's resolutions of seven Associated Content writers and one blogger - writers know all about goals, don't we?

Andrea Coventry
"2010 is about getting into a writing groove in such a way that will help me transition to it being a true full-time job sooner rather than later. I've been converting over to doing a lot of book reviews, so I'm trying to focus on those. I set up Examiner events for a full month at a time, then release at intervals, and supplement with other pieces that were done. I prioritize higher paying jobs. I am trying to get more focused on DS so that I can eventually get on their health insurance plan, as I would lose coverage when leaving my current job. I am trying out different rotations for different sites."

Britney Boroughs
"Get in shape for swimsuit season before swimsuit season actually gets here. I plan achieving my goal by joining a gym in January and working out three days a week. Another goal of mine is to submit an average of 2 articles a day to AC and see my views exceed 700 a day. I plan to do this by networking more, improving my writing skills, and submitting more articles on unique and interesting articles."

Jolynne M Hudnell
"I don't make new year's resolutions, as I try to change the things I don't like about myself as they arise. But some resolutions I am working on are: writing more, taking more time out for others, and increasing my patience even more."

Jolie du Pre
Jolie has a resolution that most Associated Content writers wish they could achieve: To become an AC millionaire by continuing to publish celebrity news articles on a daily basis.

D.W. Smith (aka Deborah Aldridge)
"My New Year's Resolution is to make 2010 everything I wanted 2009 to be in my writing career. I'll be concentrating on two writing sites: Examiner and Suite101, and doing only garden writing there. Am working on updates to the blogs now, and will have them finished and ready to unveil the first week of January. I will be redoing both Green Lasagna and The Consummate Gardener, and making them into the vision I had for them to begin with. I haven't utilized them as well as I should have. Of course, I'm always working to make Women Who Write Online the best it can be."

Abby Greenhill
"I don't make a 'formal' New Year's Resolution list because if I don't fulfill the list then I feel let down. But every year I tell myself that I will be nicer to others and I will try and learn something new daily."

Sherri Thornhill
"New Years Resolution is to find a new job, increase my writing and appreciate all that I have, everyday."

Sherry Lynn Groovy Grunder
"Only one: TO FINISH WHAT I START!!! (I'm a chronic get-excited-and-start-a-project-then-get-distracted-or-lose-interest gal. I am working very hard to overcome this obnoxious and annoying fault and will continue to do so in 2010."

Very nice showcase of writers and resolutions! I started to write my New Year poem assignment last night and realized I have no resolutions for the first time in my life! Nicely done, Bobbi!
