New York Cities Mars 2112 is Out of This World

If you want are looking for food that is totally out of this world then you should not be surprised to learn that you can find truly out of this world food in New York City. A popular themed restaurant in New York City is Mars 2112. Mars 2112 offers a truly one of kind dining experience not like anything you will find anywhere else in the galaxy.

Mars 2112 is located in an tourist targeted area of time square. Mars 2112 is located at 1633 Broadway, Manhattan, New York. To be honest Mars 2112 is not a local favorite. Many locals will come here once to have come and seen what it is all about but the reality is that this is just a restaurant to bring in tourists and is a novelty. That also means that the food is not great. The food is not bad but it is your typical standard fare and is nothing special other then having out of this world names.

Getting into the restaurant is a mildly amusing adventure. You are taken to the restaurant by a "spaceship." When you leave you are "teleported." It reminds me of how Epcot's Living Seas use to be but you went in a hydrolator. In fact the entrance is also similar to Epcot's Mission Space line.

Once in the restaurant you can go to the restaurant, bar, or arcade. The whole place is themed to look like a Martian landscape with lots of red and lots of black on the ceilings with stars. They even have a projection of the planet Earth which oddly looks large compared to how small Mars looks from Earth. The area is made to look rocky and reminds one of the desert.

The workers are dressed up. Some are in alien garb while other are simple humans with space outfits.

Overall if you like Sci-Fi you will love this place. I am a Sci-Fi fan but not overly impressed. While it would be amazing somewhere besides New York I found I was expecting to much. This is also a very touristy place and I would prefer eating at a popular local spot while in New York.

It is worth at least going by and seeing Mars 2112 but it may not be worth it to go in and eat. Kids may enjoy eating here though so you might want to take that into consideration. Its not a bad place to go but it is not the top destination in town for food.
