New York Jets Vs. Cincinnati Bengals NFL Wildcard Pick & Prediction
Who Will Move on to the Divisional Round?
NY Jets @ Cincinnati Bengals (-3) 4:30 PM EST
Although the Jets routed the Bengals in week 17 by a score of 37 to 0, don't expect a similar performance by either team. This game will be played in Cincinnati and will include the Bengals leading rusher Cedric Benson, two factors that were not present in week 17 that I believe will make a large difference in the outcome.
Many Jets supporters are pointing to the fact that the Jets have won 5 out of their last 6 games, and that hot teams usually fare better come the playoffs then teams that may be stronger but stumble in with a loss or two. Of those 5 wins out of their last 6 games, three were against under .500 teams, and the other two were against teams that had already clinched playoff spots, were resting players, and had no reason to win (Colts, Bengals).
Cedric Benson will help even out the Bengals offense and open things through the air for Carson Palmer. Expect the Bengals defense to force Sanchez to beat them through the air by concentrating on the Jets excellent rushing attack. Even though the Jets have won two of their last three contests, Sanchez has just one touchdown to three interceptions. Sanchez will not be able to lead the Jets to victory if the Bengals can shut down the rushing attack.
Prediction: Bengals 21 Jets 14 (Bengals to win and cover the spread)

Post a CommentNew York Jets vs. Cincinnati Bengals game will not be an easy one for Chad Ochocinco the Bengals receiver who worked out on Tuesday even though he has not fully recovered from a sore knee. He is shaping up for a playoff rematch against the Jets team that left him without a catch. Ochocinco fell on his left knee after slipping during pregame warm up on Sunday. He was limping off the field but started the game, which the Jets won 37-0. He did not play in the second half to protect the knee.
