New York Knicks 2009-2010 Game-By-Game Predictions

Before the summer of 2010 gets here the New York Knicks have to play 82 regular season games. With only four newcomers (rookie Toney Douglas, rookie Jordan Hill, rookie Marcus Landry and Darko Milicic) the 2009-2010 New York Knicks will begin the season with pretty much the same roster they had at the end of last season.

With nine players returning and a year of Mike D'Antoni's up-tempo offense under their belts the Knicks will have some continuity and once again be one of the highest-scoring teams in the NBA. However, the 2009-2010 New York Knicks roster also has six players (Chris Duhon, Al Harrington, Larry Hughes, David Lee, Darko Milicic, and Nate Robinson) in contract years.

Duhon, Harrington, Lee, and Robinson, though they are all complementary players, are all core guys for the Knicks. In New York's up-tempo system they will all be able to get their points (each of them had career scoring years last season under D'Antoni), but the question is whether they will score their points with the team's goals in mind or with their individual goals in mind. The answer to this question will determine whether the Knicks can win enough games to lure a big-named free agent to New York next summer.

Game 1, Wednesday, October 28th at Miami- Knicks open the season with a road loss to the Miami Heat (Record 0-1).

Game 2, Friday, October 30th at Charlotte- Knicks outscore the Charlotte Bobcats and get a road win at Time Warner Cable Arena (Record 1-1).

Game 3, Saturday, October 31st versus Sixers- Knicks lose their home opener to the Philadelphia 76ers and drop the second half of a back-to-back (Record 1-2).

Game 4, Monday, November 2nd versus Hornets- Knicks get a steady dose of pick-and-roll and fall to the New Orleans Hornets (Record 1-3).

Game 5, Wednesday, November 4th versus Pacers- Knicks continue to struggle as they drop a close game to the Indiana Pacers (Record 1-4).

Game 6, Friday, November 6th versus Cavaliers- Knicks lose to LeBron and the Cleveland Cavaliers and drop their fourth consecutive home game (Record 1-5).

Game 7, Saturday, November 7th at Milwaukee- Knicks fall to the Milwaukee Bucks (Record 1-6).

Game 8, Monday, November 9th versus Jazz- Knicks drop another road game as they lose to the tough Utah Jazz (Record 1-7).

Game 9, Wednesday, November 11th versus Hawks- Knicks continue to look for their first home win as they drop a close game to the Atlanta Hawks (Record 1-8).

Game 10, Friday, November 13th versus Warriors- Knicks defeat the Golden State Warriors in a shootout and get their first home win of the season (Record 2-8).

Game 11, Wednesday, November 18th at Indiana- Knicks get their second win in a row with a victory over Danny Granger and the Indiana Pacers (Record 3-8).

Game 12, Saturday, November 21st at New Jersey- Knicks drop a road game to the New Jersey Nets (Record 3-9).

Game 13, Sunday, November 22nd versus Celtics- Knicks fall to divisional rival Boston Celtics at Madison Square Garden (Record 3-10).

Game 14, Tuesday, November 24th at Los Angeles Lakers- Knicks begin a three-game road trip with a loss to the Lakers (Record 3-11).
