New York Post's Peyser's Not Wiser

Trash 'em and Bash 'em

Renee Morway
Little Miss Reader sat on her tweeter
Perusing the New York Post
When along came Andrea Peyser
Who thinks she's so much wiser
On her high horse, reared,
As if it had seen a ghost

Who in the world is Andrea Peyser, anyway? For starters, she's proof-positive, in writing, of the old saying, "Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one." In addition, she's a columnist who won a few awards and blah..blah, according to the New York Post's website.

Above all, Peyser is opinionated. She spews her opinions in the Post every three to four days. The paper costs $0.50 a day. So, a buck a week of a customer's money contributes to Peyser's kitty whether it's worth it or not and whether the customer likes it or not.

For those who have not had the experience of reading Peyser's award-winning writing, here are a few choice samples:

On Lindsay Lohan: "What Linz desperately needs is a swift kick in the teeth..." "...she resembles something dragged in on the bottom of my shoe." "...skank..."

On the late Michael Jackson: "a weird, emaciated and nearly broke entertainer, who died as ugly as he lived -- drugged into oblivion while dreaming of attractive young males." "...the most celebrated freak ever to surgically alter his face, chemically lighten his skin and moonwalk away from charges of serial pedophilia..." "...his children, whom Michael paraded in the world like circus freaks..."

On Debrahlee Lorenzana: "...man-hungry, plastic-surgery-addicted, fame-whoring single mom..." "resemble(s) a post-op transsexual."

There's plenty more where that came from, folks, but the pattern is clear. This barrage of juvenile, name-calling, insult-slinging. junior high school mentality dribble is award-winning material?

Who in the world is Andrea Peyser, anyway? Who is she to sit on her high horse, look down on others, and judge them so harshly?

Peyser is no wiser or better than the people she condemns. She's a small, petty, judgmental person who kicks people when they're down (deceased even) to try to make a buck and a name for herself. She is the written equivalent of a shock jock who is trying to get people to read her column just to see what absurd comment she'll spout next. "Tis an old and cheap trick.

Speaking of cheap, Peyser appears to be trying to imitate the fabulous Joan Rivers. Could Peyser be a wannabe? If so, she's about 99 ones short of a hundred dollar bill. Peyser's outspoken without Rivers' charm. She also lacks Ms. Rivers personality, funny, and class.

Perhaps one day soon I will open up the New York Post and it will lack Andrea Peyser's column?
