The Adirondack area is one of the most beautiful, not only in New York, but in the country, and I can speak from personal experience. This is where I moved too after a life time in the Big Apple. It is a great vacation spot four seasons of the year, and in the winter has some of the best skiing to be found anywhere. The average snowfall in the area can be 80 or more inches and combined with the snow making equipment, the trails are always ready to go. Titus Mountain is located in the beautiful foothills of New York's Adirondack Mountains, where there are some of the best ski slopes in the country. Titus Mountain has 27 trails, all downhill, no cross country. They can make their own snow and in addition to skiing you can enjoy Night Skiing, Snowboarding, Half Pipe, Snow Tubing. It is also near Lake George, a good place to make a side trip too. They offer Alpine Skiing, Night Skiing, Snowboarding and Snow Tubing. There are 22 trails and 2 Rope Tows, 3 Tubing Tows, 2 Double Chairs and 1 Triple Chair. The trails are rated Easiest More Difficult and Most Difficult.

Willard Mountain is not one of the biggest ski resorts, but it is one of the most family friendly. It is located near Saratoga Springs and just an hour or so north of Albany. They have a lodge and a cafeteria.
They have 14 trails with 2 Handle Tows, 1 T-bar, 1 Double Chair and offer Alpine Skiing, Night Skiing, Snowboarding and a Terrain Park. They also offer group and private lessons.
