How Does LinkedIn Work? Utilizing the Bartering System to Obtain Recommendations
Using the bartering system to obtain LinkedIn business recommendations is by far my favorite way to build up the professional reputation on LinkedIn. The reason that I love this technique so much as that it enables recommendations to be posted on your LinkedIn profile, which serve as testimonials for others to see concerning your business, and these testimonials can largely influence other LinkedIn users to become long lasting clients. The way that this particular technique works is that you correspond with people in your network, asking them if you and they are able to barter services on a one time basis in exchange with providing one another with recommendations. If anyone that you ask is puzzled as to why you want to do this, explain that it is a win win situation because it will help both of you in a positive way. Once people consent, you then try out one another's services, and then you provide one another with recommendations.
Newbie LinkedIn Guide: Recommending Others
You may not think that recommending others to other users on LinkedIn can contribute to building up your reputation, but it can. There are two ways in which this can be done. For one, you can send messages to others in your network recommending other LinkedIn users to them. For instance, if you have a computer service technician in your network, you can recommend them to an office manager or to someone else who may be able to use their services. The second way that you can recommend others is to do it in response to people's questions on the Q and A network. For example, let's say that someone asks a question about search engine optimization and there is an individual who specializes in that field that is in your network. Answer that person's question to the best of your ability, and then states that you know of an expert on the subject that can assist the person better than you can, and then recommend that particular user. If you do this long enough, the same will happen for you because those that you recommend will start recommending you to others.
LinkedIn is a wonderful business social network that can do a great deal for your company. Employing these strategies to build up your reputation will show you just how true this really is.
