Newest Bachelorette is Jillian Harris

Canadian Gal Becomes Next Bachelorette on ABC

In each season of the Bachelor, there is always one particular woman who stands out to both the viewers and the producers alike, despite not receiving the final rose. That lucky lady is offered the opportunity of a lifetime to meet 25 handsome men resulting in finding one that will ultimately be the man of her dreams. This year, that woman is none other than Classy Canadian, Jillian Harris, a 29-year-old Interior Designer from Alberta. During the 'After the Final Rose: Part 2' host Chris Harrison announced that she will in fact be the next person in line. The show's audience was excited and cheered her on accordingly.

America fell in love with Jillian for her down-to-earth nature, intelligence, sweet spirit and fun and outgoing personality, not to mention her obvious outer beauty. Well, in just a few short weeks she'll be embarking on the adventure of her dreams as she dates her way to find her Prince Charming. It's no surprise that she was selected, after all, during the 'Women Tell All' episode Chris Harrison, asked her if she would be interested in such an endeavor. Her reply was an excited "yes".

Jillian may have felt heartbroken at the time that Jason had to say goodbye to her, but as with all things in life, circumstances bring you to a new and better place in your life. Nothing ventured, nothing gained or as Jillian says "You have to slay a few dragons before you can get to the prince!"

Even though previous Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas was not successful in finding a match for herself, by choosing the wrong guy-Jesse, a Snowboarder from Colorado, we can be sure that finding a husband is still achievable on the show. After all, that is how then Bachelorette Trista Rehn met her now husband Ryan Sutter. Not only did they have the first televised $4 Million Bachelorette Wedding of a lifetime, but they are happy and doing wonderfully with one beautiful boy named Max and a baby girl on the way!

I look forward to watching Jillian on her adventure beginning in May. I am also excited and a bit partial because, like her, I am also a Canadian born and raised. I had always wondered if they would ever consider bringing on a Canadian for either Bachelor or Bachelorette, after all we are all North Americans. Moreover, I believe that she will represent the show well. I believe ABC made a smart choice in choosing her. Hopefully she can improve the shows' scorecard of only one marriage to date in Bachelor/Bachelorette history. One thing is for sure- the show is always entertaining! I'm sure we can expect more drama, fun and romance ahead.
