Newest Hollywood Marriage Announcement

WriteOnMom
Lately there has been a baby and marriage craze going on in Hollywood. It seems the hottest things going are engagement rings and little orphaned babies.

The latest marriage news however coming out of L.A. is that "Grey's Anatomy" star Kate Walsh has announced she is getting married to 36 year old Alex Young.

BIG DEAL, right? Well, it seems that Kate and Alex have only been dating for roughly a month and their engagement happened a few days ago. The buzz is this is a disaster waiting to happen. Marriages with people that have been together for years in Tinsel Town rarely work let along the relationships that are jumped into faster then next seasons hot fashions.

Kate has been quoted as saying "I'm on cloud nine." How long will this cloud nine feeling last? Do we give them the month or two which in Hollywood seems to regulate a serious meaningful relationship? Or should we wait to see if the marriage actually happens and then wait for an announcement that they are having a baby before we take it even a tad bit serious?

Of course there is no word yet on how long of an engagement is planned, or if they are planning a right away type of ceremony.

Some celebrity relationships that have hit skids lately are those of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline (who really thought that would last), Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown (that lasted a lot longer then anyone expected), Kylie Minogue and Olivier Martinez, Pam Anderson and Kid Rock (now that was really love, don't ya think?), Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, and let us not forget the on again off again romance of Shanna Moakler and Travis Barker.

One thing is for certain in Hollywood as it is anywhere, you can not expect relationships to always work out, especially those with no real thought or time. The chance that a marriage will last is 50/50. A couple that rush into marriage have an even higher instance of separation or divorce.

Something Hollywood and the high profile actors and actresses need to learn is something most of us already know. Take your time, do not rush into a marriage, get to really know the person you are planning to spend your "life" with, and really work to make sure it is right and going to be lasting.
