Newly Retired Neopet Items: 20 Food Items You Will Definitely Want to Hoard

Miss Fortune
There seems to be a growing trend of retiring items at Neopets; over the past two weeks over sixty items have been retired. Some of them shot up in price over night while others are still selling for just a smidge over their original price. Part of that might be due to the ongoing Faeries Ruin plot and the lack of Faerie Quests and the overall slump in sales for everyone.

I was skimming my Safety Deposit Box and saw "Bubble Gum" was retired and my jaw literally hit the desk. This was one of the higher paying items at the Faerieland Employment Agency and something that you could always make a nice profit on if you restocked it in your shop. Then I saw "Sugar Bunny" was also retired. I almost passed out when I saw my beloved "Candy Cane" with the word 'retired' under it so I was glad I amassed over four hundred of them in anticipation of the holiday season. This is a prime example of why hoarding is a good thing and why you should never overlook common items. I mean, seriously, who ever thought that something as basic as a candy cane would ever get retired?

The list of the twenty food items that were retired yesterday include the following: "Assorted Neodrops", "Sugar Bunny", "Lollypop", "Bubble Gum", "Candy Cane", "Fudge", "Milk Chocolate Lupe', "Milk Chocolate Wocky", "Chocolate Coated Mint Bar", "Chocolate Coated Marshmallow", "Chocolate Coated Peanut Butter", "Strawberry Jelly Chia", "Strawberry Jelly JubJub", "Strawberry Gummy Flotsam", "Apple Sweetie", "Lemon Sweetie", "Orange Sweetie", "Raspberry Sweetie", "Kyrii Cracker".

I was disappointed that the Sweetie candies were retired because they were extremely good sellers and fetched a nice reward at the Employment Agency. Likewise, the "Assorted Neodrops" and "Fudge" were two of my personal favorites. I was lucky to catch these right after they retired so I was able to buy the Chocolate Lupe and Chocolate Wocky for about 150 NP each (I managed to get about 60 - 70 of both of them).

If Neopets is retiring things on a regular schedule then Monday and Tuesday should see even more retired items!

Thank you for tipping me off to the hoardables.
It will be interesting to see what happens to the faerie employment agency. I think it will be revamped after the plot.
