News from Atlanta - Georgia's new Discount Prescription Drug Card Program
Georgia's new Discount Prescription Drug Card Program went into effect recently. Residents of Georgia are entitled to download and print their own Georgia Drug Card for free. Cardholders will receive discounts on brand name and generic prescriptions at over 50,000 participating pharmacies in the U.S. There are no enrollment forms or claim forms. In addition, the plan has no age or income requirements and no annual limits for usage.

News from Atlanta - Ambulance Stolen
An ambulance car belonging to Atlanta's Grady Hospital was stolen several days ago, while paramedics were inside an Atlanta residence tending to a patient. Witnesses say the suspect looked to be in his early teens. The theft was recorded by a video camera inside the ambulance, which was later found abandoned after it had crashed into a parked car.

News from Atlanta - Erik Estrada in Town
Erik Estrada, former star of the TV show CHiPs, is in town, filming a movie in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. The movie, "Hillbilly Highway", is described as a "B-movie".

News from Atlanta - Georgia Film & Videotape Office
In a related story, the Georgia Film & Videotape Office is reporting that Georgia has become the most popular state in the southeast for the filming of TV and movies, and is one of the most popular in the U.S. Currently, Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva" is filmed just south of Atlanta. Movies filmed in Georgia include "The Blind Side", "The Last Song", "Driving Miss Daisy", "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Forrest Gump".

News from Atlanta - Free Ice-Cream for Dogs
The Taj Ma Hound Canine Bakery is offering free ice-cream for all dogs every Wednesday evening from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm during the hot summer months. Taj Ma Hound is located at 707 East Lake Drive in Decatur, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta.

    Atlanta is one of my favorite cities. Love the free ice cream for dogs. We have to give our dogs Frosty Paws instead. Thanks for the news. :-)

    HOw cute...free ice cream for dogs. Talk about a special treat for Fido. Hey, one of my favorite things about Atlanta are the Braves! First Place, oh yeah. AND, its the home of my favorite pastor, Dr. Charles Stanley. Love that man!

    Oregon has had a prescription card but it only gets the prescription for whole sale price for customers. But that is better than no help at all I guess.
