Mark McEwen loses lawsuit; writes book about stroke experience

Four years after his massive stroke, Mark McEwen is sharing his story. The former "Early Show" co-host has written a book about his recovery process and aims to increase the public awareness through the discussion of stroke symptoms and signs. Prior to his stroke, McEwen visited a Maryland emergency room where the doctor told him that he was exhibiting symptoms of stomach flu. Two days later, McEwen suffered a massive stroke. Last week, McEwen lost a medical negligence lawsuit against the emergency physician who misdiagnosed him.

Joy Behar gets own hour on HLN

September 29, Joy Behar of "The View" will debut her new talk show on HLN. The show is scheduled for weeknights at 9 p.m. and will cover major social issues. HLN is formerly known as CNN Headline News.

Dr. Oz's new show coming Sept. 14

Dr. Mehmet Oz of Oprah Winfrey Show fame will have his own show starting September 14. His new show will focus on health related issues.

Actor Tom Selleck awarded $187K in lawsuit

Tom Selleck of "Magnum, P.I." fame won a lawsuit against Dolores Cuenca, a Del mar equestrian, whom he accused of selling him a "lame horse". Selleck was awarded $187,000. Next week, a second trial will determine how much Selleck will be awarded in punitive damages.

Jack Tweed, widower of Jade Goody arrested and charged with rape

Jack Tweed, widower of Jade Goody, has been arrested and charged with rape. September 21, Tweed is scheduled to appear in court and will remain in custody until that time. Jade Goody, a former "Big Brother" contestant passed away from cervical cancer in February at the age of 27. Just after her death, Tweed was arrested and held for 12 weeks after attacking a cab driver.

Tim Gunn becomes comic book superhero

Fashion stylist Tim Gunn will be turned into comic book hero. In "Loaded Gunn", Gunn will appear as a superhero that fights crimes against fashion.

Diggs and Menzel welcome first child

Thursday, Actors Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel welcomed their baby boy, Walker Nathaniel Diggs. Walker Nathaniel is the couple's first child. Diggs stars on ABC's hit show "Private Practice". Menzel stars in the Broadway production of "Wicked".

Tyra shows off her natural hair on the "Tyra Show" season premier

Tuesday, the "The Tyra Show" returns for its fifth season. On the season premier, Tyra Banks will appear with her natural texture hair. The show will tackle women's hair insecurities. The season premier will air Tuesday at 4 pm on the CW.
