News Flash: Prayer Works! Global Warming is Already Over
Disappointed Siberians Interviewed Were Looking Forward to It
According to March 22, 2009 WorldNetDaily, "Global warming is simply no longer happening." Anyone living in the U.S. during the last few winter seasons can attest that there is no need for warmer temperatures to produce snowier winters. Boston and the East Coast beat normal snowfalls by at least 30 inches, with an early December cold snap to boot.
And the polar bears - what's happening with the polar bears? Al Gore highlighted them in his movie in 2006 as a flagship species being systematically drowned or floated off into oblivion on tiny melting ice flows. Is it too late for them?
What Happened to the Global Warming?
This may sound like "new news", but back in February 2005, the Edinburgh Scotsman reported "We're seeing an increase in [polar] bears that's really unprecedented. And in places where we're seeing a decrease... it's from hunting, not from climate change." This quotation was from Canadian polar bear expert Dr. Mitch Taylor.
And in a Science article Global Warming Cleared of Ice Shelf Collapse Rap by Pelle Neroth Taylor on February 24, 2005, "The high-profile collapse of some of Antarctica's ice shelves is likely the result of natural current fluctuations, not global warming,' says a leading British expert on polar climates.
It goes on to say that "'This surprising finding is supported by data analysis from the European Space Agency's ERS-1 satellite', according to Duncan Wingham, Professor of Climate Physics at University College London. 'The data, measuring changes in ice thickness across the Antarctic ice sheet using the polar orbiting satellite, show areas of growth from snowfall are as common as areas of decline.' " This is further supported by data in the fourth IPCC (the UN's Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change) Report released in November of 2007.
And in December of 2007, Dr. David Whitehouse, a British astronomer and former science editor of the BBC, stated "The fact is that the global temperature of 2007 is statistically the same as 2006 and every year since 2001.... the evidence shows that global warming as such has ceased."
But The Warming Warnings Continue
It apparently takes a long time for science to filter down through the pipeline to the average person. We are still being subjected daily to news hype that we need to prepare for a near future of global warming devastation.
According to the Senate Committee on the Environment at the time, at least 400 scientists had weighed in as unconvinced regarding global warming. Drs. Whitehouse and Taylor, and other climatologists continue to disagree with the IPCC, whose summary report states in the first paragraph: "Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, as is now evident from observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice and rising global average sea level. "
The 30th Session of the IPCC was held in April of 2009 in Antalya, Turkey. Chances are they will still be beating the same drum.
Maybe an Answer to Prayer?
The web site of the Senate Committee on the Environment is continuing to take stock of scientists weighing in on the global warming issue, and in March 2009, the number registered as dissenting had almost doubled that of 2 years ago, to over 700 scientists and climatologists, and counting.
The waters have been pretty muddied of late and everyone has their theory as to why the tide is changing, but an actual answer hasn't been pinpointed. Considering all the media fear-mongering, there's a good chance the praying public handled it.
Dr. Don Easterbrook, Geology professor at Western Washington University, was quoted in Climate Research News the end of Dec. 2008: "The... global warming [that] began in 1977 is over, and the Earth has entered a new phase of global cooling," He maintains that a switch in Pacific Ocean currents "assures about three decades of global cooling. And new solar data showing an... absence of sun spots and changes in the sun's magnetic field suggest ... the present episode of global cooling may be more severe... [than that] of 1945 to 1977."
Climatologist and executive director of Icecap.us, a climate change assessment web site, Joe D'Aleo of the International Climate and Environmental Change Assessment Project, testified at New Hampshire's Public Listening Session of the Governor's Climate Change Task Force.
He indicated that data suggesting cooling, not warming, is in Earth's future. "With the Pacific Decadal Oscillation now likely in a cold mode for the next 15 to 25 years, expect more years like this last one, not less. More snow and great tourism."
So it seems we should put our bathing suits away for the time being and keep the wood shed full.

continued.... Interesting article that truly exposes man's ignorance and how to exploit it for commercial success. Face it, many things we simply cannot control and weather is at the top of the list. Thank you.
Who here is honestly qualified to report on the globe's climate? When you stand by the tracks a train rumbling by at 70 miles an hour is quite impressive but when viewd from a mountain top miles away it resembles a catapillar inching along. Considering the earths age, 10 billion years, and how long humans have been keeping weather records (300 years?), the disparity is mind boggling. "Climate is what we expect. Weather is what we get" according to Mark Twain. Ice ages come, ice ages go, the planet warms up, the planet cools off. Only this time there are witnesses who try to claim the credit or some form of involvement. Natural disasters have historically occurred but there were fewer casualties because there were fewer people. At this moment there are major cities located at the foot of volcanoes that may erupt at any time. Hopefully, the warning sirens will do more than set off panic. Maybe evacuations should begin now and remove the element of panic. Interesting article that truly e
