May 4th Is A Good Day To Stay Off The Roads In Australia

Other than the torrential rain that Australia has seen in the past few months, and the road trains that go barreling across the outback, what makes this day different to any other?

Well, 11 locations in Australia are promoting the awareness of early learner driver training by going for a world record for the number of learner drivers taking lessons at the same time.

The organizer apparently said that this event will be a memorable experience for young drivers.

Well let us all hope that it's not memorable for all the wrong reasons, and wish them success in their world record attempt.

Mommy That Man's Got No Clothes On!

People couldn't believe their eyes one day last summer when a cyclist decided to take a ride to the nudist beach in the buff.

Richard Collins, aged 54, who is an electrical engineer, as well as being a promoter of naturism in the UK, decided that as the weather was perfect, he would head out along the road from his home in Bournemouth, along the peninsular at Sandbanks (which is the UK's equivalent of Malibu), and take the chain ferry across the entrance to Poole Harbour to the naturist beach at Studland.

Some elderly people as well as others with young children didn't see his point of view however, and following a number of reports the police arrested him just as he was about to board the ferry.

Mr Collins has been actively cycling around parts of the UK since 2002 to promote naturism, and does not believe that it's right for them to have to hide behind walls and hedges.

He appeared in court this week however, charged with causing harassment, alarm or distress. The case is ongoing --

While I personally have nothing against naturism or nudists, I am not so sure whether I would want to be riding a bike naked. Saddles are uncomfortable at the best of times, but to be sitting on one unprotected -- ouch!

Deaf Men Stabbed Over Misunderstood Signs

So it's Saturday night, and two men, both deaf, one also a mute, went to a local bar on Hallandale Beach just north of Miami in Florida to celebrate a birthday.

A woman who was in the bar thought that they were making gang related signs at her, and so she confronted them, only for the two men to indicate for her to go away.

Her response? To leave the bar and come back with a friend, who took his knife and stabbed both of the men.

Fortunately the woman and her friend are now behind bars, but this is just another sad case of the sad world that we live in isn't it.

What Not To Do When You Have Noisy Neighbors

We all know what a royal pain it is when our neighbors have a party and turn up the music don't we.

Well a man from Port St. Lucie in Florida didn't take very kindly to it last week, and began his complaints by swearing at the neighbors in a very impolite manner, saying "Can you turn that (expletive expletive) down".

A huge verbal argument erupted, and the man went into his garage, grabbed a baseball bat, returned and hit his neighbor over the head at least several times, hard enough to cause the bat to splinter.

He also punched one of the guests in the eye, which caused the guest to retaliate by grabbing the bat and hitting the man in the face with it.

The man fell to the ground, then returned home, where the police found him and placed him under arrest on an aggravated battery charge.

Trips To The Cemetery Aren't Sacred Any More

You can't even pay your respects to your deceased loved ones these days without criminals taking advantage of you.

At Our Lady Queen Of Heaven cemetery in North Lauderdale in Florida, it was Good Friday and families were there paying their respects, when a three thieves decided to break into their cars, stealing amongst other things, credit and debit cards that had been left inside them.

Fortunately, an hour later they were caught on surveillance cameras, using the stolen cards at a local Walmart.

It's really sad that there is no respect these days, but I bet these three will be complaining that they don't get any "respect" as they spend time behind bars.

Wow, robbing people at the cemetery...

So many awful things people do. I'm surprised the one guy wasn't killed from getting bludgeoned by the baseball bat; he must have a very hard head to splinter the bat without dying from the repeated blows.

Sad about the two deaf men...that woman must have been having a really awful day to have had them stabbed over the way they were communicating. Apparently she has never heard of sign language....
