Hoped For A Prince But Found A Frog
Staff at a florist ship at Bournemouth in the south of England got a shock when they unwrapped a shipment of red roses in preparation for Valentine's Day.
Inside the bundle was a cute little chappy, who on being unwrapped, hopped out and along the floor, causing one of the women to scream, as she thought it was a spider (yeah I would have too).
Actually the frog was not so small, it was huge compared with English frogs, and is thought to have come from Colombia or South Africa, where many of the flowers sold around the world originate.
The frog has been nicknamed "Valentino", and the store is hoping to find him a home with a reptile expert. For now though, he is living in a goldfish bowl in the store.

Kissing Their Way Into The Record Books
A new record for the longest continuous kiss has been broken by seven couples in Thailand, who kissed their partners non-stop for more than 32 hours.
The contest originally began with 14 couples, but gradually one by one they dropped out, as the rules stated that the kissing had to be constant, and the couples were not permitted to sit down, except to go to the toilet.
Even if one of the partners fell asleep, they had to remain standing and kissing, and the only form of refreshment that they could take had to be sipped through straws.
Now I love kissing as much as the next person, but there comes a point when the pleasure fades, and I am sure after a few hours the desire to just lie down and go to sleep must be hard to suppress.
One interesting thing though, if you click on the link below for the original article, there is a picture of two couples kissing. Do you think that the couple on the left looks like two men? It certainly looks that way to me.

Show Me Your Breasts Cop Faces Arrest
As always our weird news stories end up in Florida, and this time it's something like you might expect in a spoof cops show or Police Academy.
A police officer in Palm Bay in Florida has been in court, with two women testifying that he asked them to show him their breasts, to avoid being arrested.
The first woman reported the officer after he came to her house on a domestic disturbance call. The woman said that he had asked her to remove her shirt and lift up her bra, supposedly to make sure she wasn't hiding any drugs.
The second woman claims that she was twice stopped by the officer for having tinted windows in her car, and he offered to let her go without being written up if she showed him her breasts. He was said to have allowed her to go after she protested.
The judge however sided with the officer, as there had been no physical contact between him and the women, and it therefore didn't qualify as harassment.
So do you agree with the judge or not? Given the nature of the situations, firstly a domestic disturbance, and secondly a car with tinted windows, how much trust do you put in the testimonies of the witnesses, compared with knowing that sometimes a police officer will also break the rules.
The good news is that the officer does at least now have this type of offence down on record. Should there be further occurrences...

He's Dead. Oh No He's Not. Oh Yes He Is.
Paramedics who were called to the home of a 70 year old man in Fort Myers in Florida after he had complained of chest pains, pronounced him dead.
When the mortician arrived at the house several hours later, the body suddenly began to twitch and gasp for air.
He ran to get the man's wife, telling her "He's not dead", and called 911.
Four days later, however, the man collapsed again, and this time for good.
The paramedics are now being questioned as to whether they could have saved the man's life if they had rushed him into the hospital in the first place.
As always it's a tough decision isn't it, and it's only with hindsight that we know what the correct action in any circumstance ought to have been.

Couple Commits Crimes While Toddler Sleeps
Staying in Fort Myers in Florida, we find a couple of parents who left their 23 month old child asleep at home, while they went out and broke into Subway restaurants, so steal money to feed their drug addictions.
The couple were nabbed by police who were watching as they tried to break into a nail salon, and confessed to multiple burglaries.
After the arrest, the police found the child asleep at home, and in the house they found a list of Subway restaurant locations.
The couple have been charged with burglary, possession of tools for use in break-ins, and also child neglect.

Something Odd About Those Women I Bought Drinks For
A Hispanic laborer from Naples in Florida was busy getting drunk in a bar, and had bought drinks for several other customers who he assumed were women.
When he found out later that they were in fact men in drag, a fight started, during which he broke bottles and began to fight with other customers.
When arrested by the police, the man was found to have a large hunting knife tucked into his waistband and hidden under his shirt.
He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, and for disorderly intoxication.
Let this be a lesson to anyone who goes to bars and gets drunk.
He was lucky in this case, but sometimes you never know who you might end up taking home and waking up next to in the morning.
