British Woman Dies In Buttock Operation Tragedy

I guess you could call this a case where people are warned not to do this kind of thing, but through vainness just go ahead and do it anyhow.

A British woman traveled out to Philadelphia last November to have silicon implants inserted into her buttocks, a procedure which was done not in hospital or a medical facility, but at a hotel room.

Last week she returned with three of her friends who wanted to have the same procedure done, the implants costing between $1,000 and $2,500 a session.

Two of the friends underwent the same treatment, while the third opted for hip enhancement surgery, the procedures being undertaken in a room at the Hampton Inn close to Philadelphia International Airport.

Shortly after the injections were administered, one of the women, who was aged only 20, began feeling ill, complaining of chest pains. The surgeon made a quick exit, and the woman was rushed to hospital, but died later.

The Philadelphia police are unsure at this time whether the surgeon was licensed or not, and are looking into the matter.

It seems that despite the risks involved, people still agree to undertake these risky cut-price procedures, just to satisfy their vanity, and unfortunately as happened with this case, pay a heavy price.

What's Worse Than Shooting Yourself In The Foot?

Picture the scene... An under 18 teenager in Orlando (yes it's another Florida story folks) was lying on the bed, playing with a 9mm pistol, apparently trying to tie it around his leg, when suddenly BANG! It fired, the bullet going straight through his scrotum and lodging in his upper thigh.

The police arrived on the scene, and he begged them to call an ambulance.

They are recommending that he is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a minor and also unlawful discharge of a firearm. On the night of the incident the police were unable to locate the boy's mother.

Let's hope this will be a lesson to him not to play with guns. A shot in the balls is hopefully enough proof that they are not toys.

Who Kidnapped JR?

JR is an owl that has been a resident of the Largo McGough Nature Park in the city of Largo in Florida for a while, but has been in captivity for so long can no longer fly around and hunt for food.

Apparently sometime on Friday night there was a break-in at the park, and someone cut JR's cage open.

Nobody is sure whether the owl took off of his own accord or whether he was kidnapped, but the city is concerned for his safety, and are offering a $400 reward for information leading to the arrest of whoever did this.

Well That Really Stinks!

A Palm Bay couple (yes Florida again) heard rustling under their bed at 4am in the morning, and when the man shone a flashlight under the bed, what should he find there but a Skunk.

They called a trapper, who was able to capture the animal, however in the process it managed to spray most of the home.

The couple have had to fumigate the house, washing all their clothes and leaving their possessions outside to get rid of the smell.

What I found really funny though, is that the man went to work that morning, but the boss sent him home, because of the smell. If you have ever smelled Skunk, you will know what I mean when I say it lingers and is really hard to get rid of.

How Do You Heat Your Swimming Pool?

There are various ways that a swimming pool can be heated, but this is just so horribly wrong, don't you think.

The town of Redditch, which is outside Birmingham in the Midlands of England, is planning to cut energy costs by heating the pool at the town leisure centre using heat from the nearby crematorium.

While some people have praised the council for their innovation, and in fact this technology is quite common in parts of Europe, an official from one of the biggest trade unions has called the plan "sick, insulting, and insensitive".

I suppose it is rather an unusual way to heat the pool, and will save the town a large sum every year, but can you imagine the new trend in wakes...

"Thank you all for coming ladies and Gentlemen. Please say your last respects to Great Aunt Nelly, as her earthly body makes it's final journey. Now if you would like to all make your way to the Leisure Centre next door and get changed, we can celebrate her life from the comfort of the hot tub".

I'm Not Moving To Malawi - Are You?

It seems that the government in the African country of Malawi is going to pass a new law, making it illegal to fart in public, apparently as part of a campaign to "mould responsible and disciplined citizens".

This has me wondering if the country has a major problem with people passing gas in public. If so, is it the noise that is the problem, or the smell, or maybe both.

Just assuming that someone is arrested for farting in public, how are they going to prove it. There is no evidence is there, unless you can capture the sound or smell, and that would surely take some sophisticated equipment.

Given the number of Africans who don't use deodorant, any fart that got noticed would have to be potentially lethal I would think. Lethal and lingering.

Maybe Malawi has a way of making farts colored. That might make life interesting and put a different spin on things.

Well, whatever happens, I don't think I am about to risk going to jail for something like this, especially since I have it on good authority that suppressing farts gives you brain damage.

That buttock story is awful. First of all, anyone with common sense would not have a medical procedure done in a hotel room. Didn't they see the big red flag?
