Federal Employee Seeks Girl He Met At A Party

An employee of the Department Of Immigration in Australia met a girl at a party, and was so eager to find her again that he sent an email to a whole Federal Government department in the hope of finding someone who knew who she was.

The lovesick employee wrote "I understand this is not the most appropriate channel. It is not my intent to misuse this email address".

Since the story leaked out, the email has gone viral on social media web sites.

A spokesperson for the department said that although this is a breach of email policy, the employee will not end up losing his job.

As for whether he has managed to track down the girl that he met at the party, nobody seems to know.

Not Good To Be A Goldfish At The G20 Summit

South Korean authorities have come under fire from animal rights activists for using goldfish as a security measure to help protect attendees at the upcoming G20 Summit.

Apparently six goldfish will be placed in the water supply in the restrooms to make sure that the water remains pure.

But PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) says that even the humble goldfish suffers pain just as we do, and there are much better scientific methods that can be used to ensure the quality of the water.

Rumours have been circulating that there will be mass protests by thousands of goldfish during the summit, with banners that say "Carpe Diem", but personally I think it's a load of carp.

Java Lovers Plead For Somewhere To Love

Scenes of the recent volcanic eruption in Central Java were viewed around the world, and right now there are 300,000 people who were evacuated from the area around the volcano, sheltering in sports stadiums and public halls.

Although the people have enough food and clothing, there is one thing that they don't have - privacy.

A newly wed 18 year old was quoted by the Republika newspaper as saying that her biological needs have not been met, and people are requesting what they call a "chamber of love" where they can be alone and intimate.

This is one of those areas that nobody thinks about is it. Their concerns are with the safety of the evacuees, making sure that they have food, drink, a roof over their heads and sanitary conditions, but nobody stops to think of the other basic need that many of us have.

I hope they do get their "chamber of love" and soon, otherwise some of those stadiums could turn into one big orgy.

Free Accommodation In Manhattan With Full Air Conditioning

Everyone knows that accommodation in Manhattan can be expensive, but twins Cory and Dana Foht of Florida found a novel way of saving on accommodation when they visited New York.

They apparently got the idea earlier this year when they were climbing a banyan tree in Florida, and put it into practice when they visited New York recently.

On around 20 night over the past 2 months, they have climbed about 25 feet up a tall elm tree in Central Park, stretched hammocks between the branches, unrolled sleeping bags and settled down for the night.

Other than being extremely dangerous though, it's also illegal, since Central Park is closed to visitors from 1am to 6am, and anyone found there during that time can be fined $50.

Airline Locks Toilets And Turns Out The Lights On Protesting Passengers

Passengers on board a Ryanair flight going from Fez in Morocco to Beauvais airport near Paris were unhappy when the plane was diverted to Liege in Belgium because of bad weather.

Because the plane had taken off three hours later than scheduled, it would not have been possible to take off again for Paris before the airport closed, and the passengers, about 100 of them, staged a four hour sit-in on the plane, demanding that they be taken to France.

Apparently, when the passengers refused to leave the plane, the cabin crew just locked the toilets, turned off the lights, and left them sitting on the tarmac for four hours with no food or water.

The airline had offered them the opportunity to sit in an in-transit lounge in the airport for the night, but they just wanted to be allowed to go to France.

After they finally exited the plane, the passengers were given a three hour bus ride to Paris in the early hours of the morning.

It's just a shame that the airline couldn't have thought of that earlier.
