The Las Vegas odds to win the NFC East are out and there aren't any surprises or good long shots in the bunch. The Philadelphia Eagles were the best team in the division last season and they are returning most of their starters including the potential NFL MVP Michael Vick.
The Las Vegas Hilton Superbook numbers for the NFC East gives bettors one of the few opportunities to pick a plus money favorite. The division is up for grabs with the New York Giants coming off a ten win season and the Dallas Cowboys coming back with Tony Romo. The following are the current odds on the division. Check back every week for adjustments leading up to the season.
Philadelphia Eagles +150
Michael Vick is a potential NFL MVP but if cannot stay healthy the Philadelphia Eagles will be out of contention early. The Eagles have tons of talent on both sides of the ball and there is a potential for this team to change its philosophy if Vick does go down with an injury.
The Eagles will look to strengthen their defensive line and their corners. Assante Samuel is tough to judge as a corner for the Eagles. He was toast on several occasions last season but he is a gambler and he did make big plays. Samuel's mistakes outweighed his big plays. Rumor has it the Eagles want Nnamdi Asomugha, then again who doesn't.
New York Giants +180
Eli Manning and the New York Giants do not have many holes to fill. They were a good team last season and if they can retain their free agents in key positions all will be well. Running back is a spot the Giants may move on in the short free agency period.
DeAngelo Williams is being dangled for many teams but he fits best in the New York Giants backfield. Williams is accustomed to sharing the backfield and the Giants offensive line is one of the best rushing lines in the NFL. Another spot the Giants will look into is the linebacker position. Look for the Giants to make a serious run at LaMarr Woodley.
Dallas Cowboys +225
The Dallas Cowboys 2010 campaign is one they would like to forget. The preseason favorite fell out of the race early and their flamboyant owner Jerry Jones is still stinging from the horrible season. Much of the blame goes to the Tony Romo injury. Romo is healthy and looked ready to play in his appearance at the Lake Tahoe celebrity golf tournament.
The Cowboys will be active in the free agent market and defense is a priority. The Cowboys could be in salary cap hell with the new Collective Bargaining Agreement. A free safety and a legitimate corner or a defensive line fix are all possible if the Cowboys can get under the new cap successfully.
Washington Redskins +1000
The Washington Redskins are a mess. They are so far off the reservation it is not worth discussing their needs and chances. Anyone betting this team to win the division needs to have their betting privileges suspended for the season.
Final Verdict
Bet the Dallas Cowboys at +225 to win the division and do it before the Cowboys fans get to Las Vegas for their fantasy football drafts.

Post a CommentGood reporting. I think the Eagles are the team to beat unless they do the Favre thing.
