NFL 2008 Playoff Quarterback Rankings

PBInc
The Playoffs is one of the most exciting part of the football season. However, so is deciding the most dominating players playing this season. Let's start with the quarterbacks.

In this years playoffs all 8 quarterbacks have the potential to upset their opposing teams on any given day. The 8 are Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Philip Rivers, David Garrard, Brett Farve, Eli Manning, Tony Romo, and Matt Hasselbeck.

The AFC Divisional Playoff games should provide a great expedition of talented teams and their quarterbacks. The match-up between the Jacksonville Jaguar's David Garrard, and New England Patriot's Tom Brady should prove interesting. Will David Garrard have the ability to put up the same numbers as Tom Brady on Saturday?

His stat are Completions 208, and has 325 Attempts. He also has 18 Touchdowns. Their running game this year has been popular amongst the coaches at Jacksonville this year. Tom Brady has 398 Completions, and 578 Attempts with 50 Touchdowns. However, he also has Randy Moss who is a superior receiver. The game on Sunday should also peak fans interest. San Diego Charger's Philip Rivers has 277 Completions, 460 Attempts, and 21 Touchdowns. One of his favorite receivers is injured for this game. Who will he throw to in order to get the points on the scoreboard? Indianapolis Colt's Peyton Manning has proved resourceful since his favorite receiver has been injured most of the season. Despite, Marvin Harrison's injury Peyton Manning has found other ways to win games this season. Peyton Manning has 337 Completions, 515 Attempts, and 31 Touchdowns. What would his stats be if his primary receiver wasn't injured?

The NFC also has 4 good quarterbacks playing this week. Sundays NFC Divisional game with New York Giants and Eli Manning against Dallas Cowboys and Tony Romo searching for their 3rd win this season against the Giants. Eli Manning has struggled this season, and has against the Dallas Cowboys. Perhaps he will prevail and the Giants will not allow Dallas their first season with three straight wins against an opponent in a season. Eli Manning has 297 Completions, 529 Attempts and 23 Touchdowns. However, Plaxico Burress is still playing hurt as he has for most of the season. Tony Romo also has a hurt receiver he'll throw to in T.O. Tony Romo has 335 Completions, 520 Attempts, and 36 Touchdowns. Seattle Seahawk's Hasselbeck, and Green Bay Packer's Brett Farve are almost mirror images according to the stats. Hasselbeck has 352 Completions, 562 Attempts, and 28 Touchdowns. Brett Farve has 356 Completions, 535 Attempts, and 28 Touchdowns. However, Brett Farve does have the Super Bowl ring, experience, outstanding previous season stats, and has broken NFL records.

If they ranked by stats, healthy players, injured players, and experience. They would probably rank as follows:

1. Tom Brady

2. Peyton Manning

3. Brett Farve

4. Matt Hasselbeck

5. Tony Romo

6. Eli Manning

7. Philip Rivers

8. David Garrard
