NFL 2010 Las Vegas Early Betting Lines & Picks: October 17

The Las Vegas Hilton Superbook has picked five games of the week for all 17 weeks. The idea began last year with the Golden Nugget and now there are 200 college games of the week posted months before the season as well as 85 NFL games. The M Resort has taken the process one step further and posted lines on every game of the NFL season. The following five games are the chosen games for Week 6 of NFL season.

Miami Dolphins vs Green Bay Packers -5.5

The Miami Dolphins travel to take on the Green Bay Packers on the not frozen tundra of Lambeau Field in mid October. The weather will still be chilly but Miami gets a break with the time of year they make their trip up North. Aaron Rodgers started slow last season but by Week 6 of the NFL season he was well underway to a remarkable season.

Chad Henne, the Miami starting quarterback, will be out to prove his critics wrong and by Game 6 we should know where he stands among NFL quarterbacks. Brandon Marshall is a key addition to Miami's offense and if Ronnie Brown is healthy this could be a good game. Take Green Bay -5.5 and take a look at the over if it is posted between 40-42 points.

Baltimore Ravens vs New England Patriots -3

Everyone is on the Baltimore Ravens bandwagon as the season nears. New England as a short favorite at home is an irresistible pick in this spot. Baltimore's offense is still developing and this may be a solid performance by their offense against an aging New England defense.

Tom Brady will be facing some tough defenses this season including the New York Jets but Baltimore's defense is still as stout as ever. Brady plans on making this a statement year, especially if his contract is not signed before the season is underway. Take New England -3 at home.

Dallas Cowboys vs Minnesota Vikings -2.5

The Dallas Cowboys have a chance for revenge in this spot. Dallas gave up their Super Bowl in Minneapolis last season and Tony Romo and the gang will looking for vindication. Brett Favre will either be in sync or be in a free fall by this time of the NFL season. Favre won't throw for 4,000 yards this season but he will rely on Adrian Peterson and utilize his powerful running back better than last season.

Defense may decide this game. Both defenses are not only strong up front, they both have solid corners on the outside. Up the middle, both teams can cause distractions for the quarterbacks, both of whom are prone to mistakes under pressure. Take the underdog Dallas Cowboys +2.5 points.

Indianapolis Colts -6.5 vs Washington Redskins

Remember the saying about taking the home dog especially if it is a touchdown spread? Not this time. Manning will be in mid season form for this game against the Washington Redskins. Look for the Indianapolis Colts defense to be much improved and they will be a factor in this game. Take Indianapolis -6.5 to win by two touchdowns.

Tennessee Titans vs Jacksonville Jaguars Pick

The Monday Night Football game is going to be a good game on this night with two AFC South teams locking horns early in the season. Neither team, the Tennessee Titans or the Jacksonville Jaguars, projects out to an eight win season in 2010 but both teams will be playing for pride on a Monday night. Take the home team Jacksonville Jaguars straight up for the win.
