NFL 2010 Las Vegas Early Betting Lines & Picks: October 24th Best 5 Games

Week 7 Features 2 NFC Division Rivalries & 3 More Conference Battles

Todd Jacobs
The Las Vegas Hilton Superbook released lines on five of the marquis match ups of Week 7 of the NFL Season. What is the point of betting these games early? The hard core NFL bettors know betting NFL games ahead of time presents invaluable information and ability to hedge the bet once game time approaches.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Miami Dolphins -2.5

As this game approaches, one thing to look for will be Ben Roethlisberger. How many games was he suspended? How has he looked under season type conditions? The list can continue but the essential impetus to bet this game will be the Pittsburgh Steelers defense.

The Pittsburgh offense only needs to be stable and moving forward. As long as the Pittsburgh Steelers offense is virtually mistake free, the defense will clean it up and make the Steeler offense look better than they are. Troy Polamalu is back but the key to the Pittsburgh defense is Aaron Smith. With Smith back, Polamalu is confident the Steeler's defense will once again be tough.

The Miami Dolphins sideline includes some hard nosed runners in Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown. Brown is injury prone and who knows which Ricky Williams will show up for this game. Chad Henne is a decent QB but no one to write home about. The addition of Brandon Marshall could throw a deep threat into the mix. Don't consider Marshall in the final total. Take the Pittsburgh Steelers +2.5 against the spread to win this critical match up.

Washington Redskins vs Chicago Bears -3.5

Plenty of issues coming into this NFC inter conference game. Will the Washington Redskins Donovan McNabb be on the field? Are Clinton Portis best years behind him? All legitimate questions. McNabb has struggled with a nagging ankle problem and Portis is an inconsistent running back at best.

Add Larry Johnson into the mix and the Redskins are a huge question mark as the season begins. On the other side of the field the Chicago Bears have an inconsistent quarterback in Jay Cutler. Cutler struggled in his first season in Chicago and now will see a new offensive coordinator in Mike Martz. The key to Chicago in this game will be Matt Forte. If Forte is back to his 2009 NFL form, the Bears will run rough shod over the Washington Redskins.

New England Patriots vs San Diego Chargers -4

Tom Brady brings his New England Patriots to San Diego for an epic AFC duel. Brady should be in full stride when New England hits the San Diego coast. San Diego Chargers QB, Phillip Rivers, will be under center for a remarkably different offense. With only Malcolm Floyd as a primary receiver, Rivers is in trouble from the drop of the green flag on the 2010 NFL season. Take the New England Patriots +4 points on the road.

Minnesota Vikings vs Green Bay Packers -3

A classic grudge match of NFC North rivals, this will be a battle royal. The Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers knows this is a challenge to his growing legacy and he will do whatever it takes to win this match up. On the other side of the field is Green Bay Packers legend, Brett Favre. Favre and the Minnesota Vikings swept the series in the 2009 NFL season but it won't happen this season. Take the Green Bay Packers -3 to win this one outright.

Monday Night Football New York Giants vs Dallas Cowboys -6.5

On paper this should be a crushing defeat of the New York Giants in the Dallas Cowboys home. Don't get sucked in on the hype of the Dallas Cowboys. They are a good team and could win 11-12 games against inferior competition.

This being said, the New York Giants will bounce back on defense and they will shut down Tony Romo. Romo will become frustrated in this game and kinks will show in the armor of the anointed Super Bowl Champ. Take the New York Giants and steady QB, Eli Manning +6.5.
