NFL Betting; Jets a Steal at 16/1 to Win Super Bowl XLV in 2011

The New York Jets are currently a 16/1 underdog to win Super Bowl XLV in 2011. Although we are still awaiting the 2010 NFL Draft that could shape the upcoming season, this seems to be a flaw by Vegas. The Jets will be a significantly better team than last year besides the loss of running back Thomas Jones. The Jets nearly made it to the Super Bowl last year without Antonio Cromartie and Santonio Holmes. If either of the new additions can perform at half of the level they have in the past they will take over the AFC.

I do not feel like the addition of Ladanian Tomlinson will improve this team beyond what production they would have received from Thomas Jones, but that is insignificant when looking at the entire team. There are very few holes on this team and a significant one will soon be filled through the signing of Jason Taylor or if the draft allows the Jets to pick up Brandon Graham from Michigan or Jerry Hughes from TCU. In any of those cases the Jets odds should shift to 10/1 at least, if not 8/1.

Take the Jets now at 16/1 and be thankful.
