In the NFC there are 8 remaining teams. One of this weeks games is the NY Giants at the Dallas Cowboys. The New York Giants are 11-6, with Eli Manning leading the team after a good game in last weeks playoff matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Hopefully for them Plaxico Burress will be healthy, and the team has that drive they had against Tampa Bay. The Giants lost on the road to the Dallas Cowboy's during the opening season game. However, the team then went on a eight game winning streak on the road.
The Dallas Cowboys have Tony Romo as quarterback, and hopefully a healthy Terrell Owens. Dallas is 13-6, and has won twice against the Giants. This is the Cowboys third time against the Giants, but the only other time Dallas had a chance to beat an opponent three times in a season they lost. This game may greatly rely on how good the defense plays. However, the Dallas Cowboys could possibly end the winning streak of the Giants on the road.
The Seattle Seahawks who are 11-6 will play the 13-3 Green Bay Packers this week in the NFC divisional playoff game. The Seahawks were 20th this season in rushing yards for the NFL. The Packers are having success with running Ryan Grant and Brett Favre throwing the ball. The biggest story here may be Favre and the Packers playing against their former coach Mike Holmgren. Despite, having a well seasoned coach in common the Green Bay Packers should reign supreme in this game.
The AFC has been filled this year with teams that battle back and forth. Teams in the AFC appear dominating, if based on the team's records. One of those teams is the still undefeated New England Patriots who are 16-0. Of course, they have Randy Moss, Tom Brady, Coach Belichick, and a great team chemistry. Some considered them as one of the best teams ever. They are looking for another Super Bowl win. The Jaguars are on a quest for their first. The Jaguars have had a very successful season and a talented team. The Jaguars have David Garrard as quarterback, Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew as running back, and Del Rio as coach. The Jaguars could upset the Patriots, but it's very doubtful.
San Diego is currently 12-5, and Indianapolis Colts are 13-3. The Colts have Peyton Manning as quarterback, and a still probable Marvin Harrison. Harrison hasn't had an impact on this season since he hasn't played due to injury, but perhaps he will to end the season. San Diego could possibly come out winners against the Colts. San Diego does have LaDainian Tomlinson as running back, and a dominating defense that include Shawne Merriman, and Norv Turner as coach. Norv Turner has never had a stellar season with any other team, so this team may go all the way.
Whether the teams chosen win or not football is football. Every game especially closer to the Super Bowl is as exciting as a fan seeing their team go to the Super Bowl. Whether you want the teams that beat yours out lose or your backup teams win. Football is Football.
