What Tools Do the Philadelphia Eagles Need to Win the Super Bowl?

The NFL Draft is slated for this weekend. From April 25 to 26, the teams in the National Football League will take turns drafting young men fulfilling their dreams of playing professional football. With teams trying to fill the holes they currently have in their line up, each team is trying to better itself for the upcoming season. Which positions will the Philadelphia Eagles be looking for this year, and who may they be drafting?

The Philadelphia Eagles have a total of twelve picks this year in the draft, an ample amount for a team in the Draft. Also a major bonus for the Eagles is that two of their draft picks come in the first round. This gives them a good chance to get the tools that they need. However, the question would be what tools do they need to take them to the next level to make it past the initial levels of playoffs to the Super Bowl in January.

The main item that all websites reviewing the draft can agree to is that the Philadelphia Eagles need a running back. With a young running back, the Eagles will be able to replenish their stock of aging players at that position. However, the question is which player they should draft in that position. There are different websites that suggest different names.

ESPN, CBS Sports, and Fox Sports all suggest that Chris "Beanie" Wells, a running back from Ohio State. According to chrisbeaniewells.com, Wells accumulated over 4,000 yards rushing and 47 touchdowns in his last two years of high school. With an offensive tool of that nature, any team should be able to cause some damage. If the Philadelphia Eagles happen to choose him, they could prepare him for a future by learning from the other running backs, and have a dangerous weapon if any of their veterans go down with an injury.

SI.com and several blogs by Philadelphia Eagles fans are suggesting Knowshon Moreno from Georgia. According to Wikipedia.com, Moreno has a very impressive resume. He finished in high school with 6,268 career rushing yards, 128 touchdowns, and 728 points. In his two years in college, he has 2,734 rushing yards and 30 touchdowns. As with Wells, a team that happens to select Moreno will be a team well prepared offensively.

There are other names that are out there, but Wells and Moreno are the two that pop up with the most frequency when talking about who the Philadelphia Eagles should pick first in the NFL Draft. No matter which one the team chooses, they will be choosing a valuable asset in regards with offense. With that addition to the offensive line, the Philadelphia Eagles may be able to find the tool they need to take them to the Super Bowl.

The Eagles only have one (21st) 1st round pick. They did have two, but they traded the other one (28th) for OT Jason Peters from the Buffalo Bills.
