#1 Success - Drew Brees - New Orleans Saints
No real surprises here except for the sheer amount of numbers he put up. Brees threw for 358 yards and six(!!!) scores while only giving away one interception. The true definition of the NFL elite.
#2 Success - Tom Brady - New England Patriots
Brady is back, and he came to prove it. The Patriots offense doesn't look to be slowing down. Brady threw 53 times, completing 39 of those passes. He grabbed 378 yards and 2 scores in the air, garnering points second to only Drew Brees.
#3 Success - Tony Romo - Dallas Cowboys
Tony Romo looks to be back in rhythm without Terrell Owens around to distract him. Romo threw a near perfect game, covering the 300 marker by an extra 53 yards, getting three scores and throwing no picks. If he keeps this form he should return to his status as one of the NFL elite.
#1 Failure - Donovan McNabb - Philadelphia Eagles
Donovan McNabb sustained a broken rib in the third quarter. While he is possible for week 2 at this point, his numbers up to his injury were not earth shattering for the powerful Eagles offense. He managed a mediocre 79 yards and one pick, though he did manage to throw two scores.
#2 Failure - Jay Cutler - Chicago Bears
Cutler suffered a stunning loss in Green Bay. He managed to complete less than half of his 36 attempts for a decent 277 yards. He threw only one score however and was picked off four times. The Bears play against the stalwart defense of the Steelers next week, so I wouldn't look to him to shine.
The first week of NFL football was, as always, an exciting one. Fantasy football owners need to stay on top of the game if they want to keep up these days, so remember to check back here for your weekly updates. Good luck in your next match-up.
