NFL Monday Night Football Picks Against the Spread - Analysis for the New York Giants
New York comes into this Monday Night Football game 7-6 after losing one of the most exciting games in the NFL this year to the Eagles last week. It's been an up and down season for the Giants. They won their first 5 games of the season but then dropped their next 4. With Dallas winning, the New York Giants must win to keep pace. Brandon Jacobs has had a disappointing season but has come alive in the past couple of games. New York's injuries are in their secondary with Corey Webster listed as doubtful and Aaron Ross questionable.
NFL Monday Night Football Picks Against the Spread - Analysis for the Washington Redskins
Washington comes into this Monday Night Football game with a 4-9 record. Last week they beat up on a bad Raiders football team 34-13. Although they dropped their 3 previous games before last week's victory, the losses were only by a combined 7 points and came against Dallas, New Orleans, and Philadelphia, all teams that are going to most likely make the playoffs. The Redskin defense ranks 4th in the NFL against the pass and has given up just 7 rushing touchdowns.
NFL Monday Night Football Picks Against the Spread - Head to Head Analysis
New York Giants passing game - Eli Manning was sharp last week in Philadelphia while throwing 3 touchdown passes, but he has been inconsistent week to week. The Washington pass defense will be able to keep the Giants passing game in check. Defensive end Andre Carter is having a career year rushing the quarterback and Albert Haynesworth should be back as well to help apply pressure.
Washington Redskins passing game - The New York Giants have given up 23 passing touchdowns this year, but are much more stingy with the yards given up per game. The Redskins are in the middle of the pack when it comes to passing yards and touchdowns. Washington should have moderate success passing the ball.
New York Giants running game - Ahmad Bradshaw is listed as probable for this game, but it's all on the shoulders of Brandon Jacobs. Once Jacobs gets momentum going he is an unstoppable weapon that nobody wants to get in front of. However, with the probable return of stud nose tackle Albert Haynesworth, getting the momentum started will be easier said than done.
Washington Redskins running game - The Giants rank 9th in the NFL, allowing 100.6 rushing yards a game but have still given up 17 touchdowns on the ground. The Redskins are on their 4th running back, Quinton Ganther. While he had a big day last week, it was mostly because the game was against the Raiders. There is a reason Ganther was on the practice squad and the Giants should be able to contain him.
NFL Monday Night Football Picks Against the Spread - Prediction
The spread for this game is 3 points. Neither offense matches up well to score a lot of points. The game will probably come down to which team makes a key pick or fumble recovery on defense. Expect a low scoring field goal type game. Since Washington is at home and they get 3 points on the spread, I like them.
Pick: Washington +3
