NFL Picks Against the Spread December 6th

Two Small Dogs and One Double Digit Favorite

Todd Jacobs
Last week was a short week and one to forget. I over estimated for Tony Romo's incompetence versus the overall incompetent Raiders. In Atlanta Matt Ryan went down with a toe injury and they just hung on to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The New Orleans Saints made a huge statement on Monday Night Football against the New England Patriots but watch for Tom Brady and the Pats to take out their frustrations on the Miami Dolphins.

Our record took a hit last week but we are still at 13 wins and 7 losses. To laugh at last weeks games you can click here. 2-3 last week and the two wins were double digit favorites. I am blaming the short week on it and moving on. This week is actually a tough week to pick five games but the following five games should pick up our record.

San Diego Chargers vs Cleveland Browns +11 1/2

A double digit road favorite? This would be scary if we weren't betting against the hapless Browns. Brady Quinn has to be the biggest disappointment since Matt Lienert. Phillip Rivers has been hot as of late and the Browns are well they are the Browns. The Chargers may be the hottest team heading down the stretch run to the playoffs. Chargers -11 1/2.

Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants +1

I have done fairly well going against Romo in critical divisional games and this should be yet another. Look for the Giants to suck up their pride and turn in a gritty performance in this classic grudge match. Eli Manning hasn't performed well this year but we should see. The key to beating Romo is pressure in the pocket and although the G Men are not healthy on the front four they will get to Romo in this game. Giants +1.

Denver Broncos vs Kansas City Chiefs +4 1/2

The Broncos are hard to figure out this year. Will we see the Broncos from the first half of the season or the Denver team that has struggled the last five games? Tough to bet on Kyle Orton but Kansas City has been pretty awful this year. The Chiefs are at home and that does raise some flags but we will plow on ward and take the road favorite. Denver -4 1/2.

New England Patriots vs Miami Dolphins +5

New England comes off their beat down by New Orleans and have a second straight road game. A divisional game also, the Pats have had their hands full with the Dolphins over the last few years. This game will not be tough for them this time as they have some steam to blow off. Look for Tom Brady to pump up some stats in this game and the Dolphins to counteract with close to 300 yards rushing. Take the Pats -5.

Baltimore Ravens vs Green Bay Packers -3
The Ravens are solid and the Packers quite frankly are not. Although Aaron Rodgers has amassed some impressive statistics, he hasn't showed he can win big games yet. Monday Night Football is a spotlight game and Rodgers will have to prove he can handle the glare of the spotlight. Joe Flacco is the essential pedestrian quarterback who does enough to win and not enough to lose. Take the 3 points and the Ravens.

10 and hald on the New Engand game? Wow who had that line? I would have been on Dolphins too. I didnt believe the Brady injury rumor but wish I didn't choose that game just the same.

I agree with you on San Diego and Denver this week. On your Giants and Packers game, I have them giving points not giving. Either way, I'd stick with my teams and go against you on those. With New England-Miami, I agree with both our picks. I picked Miami but I had 10 1/2 points. At five points, I think I would agree with New England but would stay away from it.
