NFL Picks Against the Spread: December 18th & 19th
All Chalk This Week and Only Three Games--less is Worth More
Most people will bet whenever than can get action and those are the people the sportsbooks and the bookies love. Don't be one of those people. Saturday night is the beginning of college bowl season. Also on Saturday night there is a possible trap game in the New Orleans Saints being visited by the Dallas Cowboys. If you want to have a parlay on the New Mexico Bowl with the Cowboy game view my pick for that game here.
Dallas Cowboys vs New Orleans Saints -7.
Will Dallas ever learn how to win in December? Odds are no. Dallas led by Tony Romo has struggled to win in December since Romo has taken control of the team. Romo has not shown the leadership he must have to take over this team. New Orleans on the other hand, led by Drew Brees, has dominated everyone in the league this year.
New Orleans has shown some chinks in the armor lately. Brees and company had to stage a miraculous comeback to win against Washington 36-33. New Orleans also struggled with another door mat team this year in Atlanta. The Falcons have struggled since losing their quarterback and leader Matt Ryan. New Orleans pulled out another win 26-23. New Orleans winning ugly but they are winning.
Take New Orleans -7 and count on one thing. Your betting on Drew Brees and against Tony Romo.
Cincinnati Bengals vs San Diego Chargers -7.
Cincinnati has been inconsistent to say the least. Carson Palmer has turned into a workman like quarterback and is in error free mode. Cincinnati also has keyed up their running game and have added Larry Johnson. San Diego is the hottest team in the league right now. Yes San Diego. Not New Orleans and Not Indianapolis who are both undefeated.
The Colts don't want to face San Diego in the playoffs right now. They have everything together including a resurgent Ladanian Tomlinson. This will be a close game. Look for San Diego quarterback Phillip Rivers to work Cincinnati's secondary and mix in a decent running attack. Cincinnati will try to keep the Chargers explosive offense off the field. In the end take San Diego -7 at home. It may be scary for a while but San Diego will rise to the occasion.
Chicago Bears vs Baltimore Ravens -10.
Jay Cutler the hapless quarterback for Chicago is worth 10 points to any team he faces. Baltimore's defense is riddled with injury and Ed Reed shut down cornerback may miss another game. Nothing to fear there as Jay Cutler will find another Raven to throw the ball to. Look for Cutler to have three to four interceptions and Baltimore to cruise. Joe Flacco Baltimore quarterback should have an easy go of it. Look for Baltimore to ice the game late and run clock. Baltimore -10 and watch for a good under bet. 42 or under would be good.
