NFL Picks: Week 12

2009 Top 3 NFL Point Spread Picks: Week 12

Kevin J Chong
Week 12 in the NFL brings tons of games to watch thanks to the 3 on Thanksgiving Day. For the Thanksgiving picks, take a look at Thanksgiving NFL 2009. Coming off a week of some upsets in the NFL, I still think there is good value to be had in week 12. If you haven't already, head over to 6 Rules to Follow when Gambling on Sports to make sure you are maximizing your odds of profiting. The 3 Sunday games against the point spread that I like the most are as follows...

Miami Dolphins at -3
Buffalo Bills

Analysis: The Miami Dolphins have had a tough NFL schedule. So far the teams they have lost to are the Colts, Patriots, Saints, Chargers, and Falcons. In most of those losses they played well and had a chance to win. The Buffalo Bills never got their feet on the ground this season. After changing offensive coordinators, quarterback Trent Edwards played himself out of a job, losing it to Ryan Fitzpatrick of all people. Marshawn Lynch, who was once seen as one of the best young running backs in the league has been invisible this year. I think Miami is better than their record shows, more disciplined, and a better NFL team than the Bills and should have no problem beating them and covering the point spread of 3.

Pick: Miami -3

Seattle Seahawks at -3
St. Louis Rams

Analysis: The St. Louis Rams will be without their starting quarterback this week. Already one of the lowest scoring teams in the NFL, the Rams will have even more trouble moving the ball with Kyle Boller at the helm. On the other side of the ball, the Rams defense ranks 29th in the NFL in points allowed. Matt Hasselbeck will have no problem picking this defense apart and the Seahawks will cover the point spread of 3.

Pick: Seahawks -3

Indianapolis Colts at -3.5
Houston Texans

Analysis: The Colts travel to Houston for a rematch of a few weeks ago. In their first meeting, Indianapolis won 20-17. I like the Colts to cover the point spread of 3.5 for a couple of reasons. First, Houston is coming off a short week after playing on Monday night. Second, since these teams just played recently, they will be able to make adjustments to each other and nobody in the NFL does that better than Peyton Manning. Take advantage of the fact that the first game was close, and the Colts have played close games recently because in this game they'll win by 2 scores.

Pick: Colts -3.5
