NFL Picks Week 9

John Paolucci
Redskins at Falcons (1pm, FOX): The Falcons will bounce back strong at home against the Skins, who struggle each week to put points on the board. Jim Zorn is just keeping Mike Shanhan's seat warm until the season is over, the reason Zorn hasnt been fired yet, is Shanahan wont take a job midseason without the leverage of other teams having vacancies, the man wants to get paid. I dont blame him, the Skins job is a tough one.

Falcons 31 Redskins 16

Ravens at Bengals (1pm, CBS): The Ravens defense finally showed up last week against the Broncos, I just dont see the Ravens getting swept by the Bengals. Ravens defense is here to stay. Greg Mattison knows now he has to rely on the blitz with this unit.

Ravens 24 Bengals 20

Chiefs at Jaguars (1pm, CBS): Maurice Jones-Drew will run wild again, Jacksonville needs to give him more than 8 carries though. Chiefs desparately need help on the offensive line. They got offensive weapons but you have to have a line to be successful.

Jaguars 27 Chiefs 17

Packers at Buccaneers (1pm, FOX): The Packers need to bounce back after getting beat at home by the Vikings, cant think of a better team to do that than the Bucs. Looking at the Bucs remaining schedule, Im not sure where they will get a win at......

Packers 31 Bucs 10

Dolphins at Patriots (1pm, CBS): The Dolphins Wildcat gave the Patriots defense problems last season as they swept the Pats and won the division by those games as the tiebreaker, but the Patriots also didnt have Tom Brady, Brady is the difference here, game will be close though.

Patriots 27 Dolphins 23

Texans at Colts (1pm, CBS): My bold upset of the week, so many matchups to pay attention to in this game, Freeney vs Mario Williams, Manning vs Schaub, Johnson vs Wayne, its just too bad Owen Daniels went down for the year last week with an ACL injury. Texans go get the biggest win of their young franchise.

Texans 30 Colts 27

Cardinals at Chicago (1pm, FOX): The Bears are early favorites but Im picking the Cardinals here, I saw the way Carson Palmer picked these Bears apart, Im expecting the same from Warner especially after the loss they took to the Panthers last week.

Cardinals 31 Bears 26

Panthers at Saints (4:05pm, FOX): I expect the Panther RBs to have a big game after watching the way Falcon RB Michael Turner was able to run on them, but much like the Falcon game, the Saints will be too much. Another loss closer to Bill Cowher taking the reins of this Panther football team next season.

Saints 38 Panthers 27

Lions at Seahawks (4:05pm, FOX): I feel bad for people watching this game, the underachieving Seaturkeys take this game easily. Hasselback has a big game.

Seahawks 31 Lions 13

Chargers at Giants (4:15, CBS): Can the Giants stop the bleeding? I think they do, the Chargers dont travel well to the East Coast.

Giants 28 Chargers 27

Titans at 49ers (4:15pm, CBS): Chris Johnson is a superstar on a 1-6 football team, after last weeks loss, Singletary claimed his team will have enough wins to make the playoffs, I think that little prediction will come back to haunt them as Johnson will run wild and Vince Young is playing for his future.

Titans 27 49ers 24

Cowboys at Eagles (8:20pm, NBC): This will be a great game, the Eagles just have too much experience in big games though, forget about that hiccup out in Oakland, the Eagles take control of the division with a healthy Brian Westbrook coming back to the lineup

Eagles 24 Cowboys 17

Monday Night Football

Steelers at Broncos (8:30pm, ESPN): I think last weeks game against the Ravens is the start of a slide. The Steelers are hitting their stride and extend their 4 game win streak, they have to contain Eddie Royal in the kick game though.

Steelers 20 Broncos 13
