NFL Playoffs First Round Wild Card Predictions

Nick Meyer
The NFL Playoffs' first round is filled with some entertaining Wild Card matchups between top-notch teams that could make a run at the Super Bowl.

Teams like Kansas City and especially Seattle likely don't have enough to make a run but the NFL is a league of parity so that is still to be determined and stranger things have happened.

That being said, there are some powerhouse teams playing on Wild Card weekend in the first round of the NFL Playoffs as well. Here are some early predictions for the coming weekend's 2010-2011 Playoff games.

New Orleans at Seattle, Saturday:

The Saints won 34-19 at home against Seattle earlier this year. Seattle has a lot of flaws but the Saints haven't looked good lately and this is a tough trip.

Still, the playoffs are a different animal and the defending champs have too much for the Seahawks.

NFL Playoffs First Round Wild Card Prediction: 27-20, Saints

Indianapolis vs. NY Jets, Saturday:

Indoor weather helps the Colts, and the Jets' defense has underachieved all year.

This is a coin-flip type of game but go with the far better QB and home team in this one. The Jets don't have enough of a pass rush and not enough health and cohesion in the secondary to win this one late.

NFL Playoffs First Round Wild Card Prediction: 23-16, Colts

Baltimore at Kansas City, Sunday:

The Chiefs play well at home and they will have an unbelievable home-field advantage. This is going to be a spectacle and a hard-fought game.

Kansas City will get it done in a thrilling upset.

NFL Playoffs First Round Wild Card Prediction: Kansas City 20, Baltimore 17

Philadelphia vs. Green Bay, Sunday:

The Packers are streaking and they have the defensive playmakers to contain Michael VIck in this game.

But Green Bay knows all too well how dangerous Vick can be as we all know from his upset win in Green Bay as an Atlanta Falcon.

Vick outguns Aaron Rodgers in this matchup in perhaps the best first round game of the weekend.

NFL Playoffs First Round Wild Card Prediction: Philadelphia 31, Green Bay 20
