NFL Power Rankings: Sex and Sacks - Elvis Dumervil or Jared Allen Which Player Will Break the All-time Sack Record?

Alfonso Coley
Denver Broncos Defensive power man Elvis Dumervil seems like the most likely candidate on breaking the all-time sack record held by New York Giants great Michael Strahan who had 22.5 sacks in 2001. What a monumental year to break the record of 22.0 sacks formerly held by Mark Gastineau of the New York Jets. Elvis Dumervil has 15 sacks, Minnesota wild man Jared Allen has 13 sacks, and the tell-tale for both of these teams success definitely depends on how well both of these players can get to the quarterback, this will be the only way for their team to advance in the second round of the playoffs.

The heat is on - by way of who is the best dominating sack leader, it will come down to if Elvis Dumervil has the most intensity to want to break the all time sack record. Any knowledgeable football fan and NFL enthusiast know very well that one player can change the face of a certain game, especially when it comes to a dominating defensive player. Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman Jared Allen has been playing with a chip on his shoulder - like he has something to prove to his team, fans and organization. The masterful performance of NFL sack leader Elvis Dumervil feels as though The Denver Broncos season depend on his ability to keep their opposing teams from scoring extra points.

Minnesota Vikings defensive terror Jared Allen may have been contained by the Arizona Cardinals opposing defenders, and yes he was double teamed, but you can only keep the terror held at bay for very long. Jared Allen knows dreadfully well that his game play will help the Vikings reach the playoffs. Personally, I feel that Elvis Dumervil has the edge on Jared Allen due to keeping his "eyes on the prize."
