Drew Brees, Philip Rivers Gaining on Kurt Warner

1. (1) Kurt Warner, Arizona Cardinals (8-5): 99.1 Quarterback Rating

The last two outings for Kurt Warner did not meet the standards he set for himself in the previous five games; however, he is still the top quarterback, with Drew Brees and Philip Rivers breathing down his neck.

On the season, Warner has thrown 25 touchdown passes and twelve interceptions. He has completed 347 passes in 505 attempts for 4,020 yards and a completion percentage of 68.7.

2. (2) Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints (7-6): 96.2 Quarterback Rating

Drew Brees is aiming to lead the Saints out of the cellar and into playoff contention. The victory over the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday was significant.

On the season, Brees has thrown 26 touchdown passes and 14 interceptions. He has completed 329 passes in 503 attempts for an NFL-high 4,100 yards and a completion percentage of 65.4.

3. (4) Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers (5-8): 102.0 Quarterback Rating

Philip Rivers produced monstrous numbers last Thursday night; however, it was the Oakland Raiders on the other side of the ball.

On the season, Rivers has thrown a career-high 26 touchdown passes and ten interceptions. He has completed 242 passes in 379 attempts for 3,169 yards and a completion percentage of 63.9.

4. (3) Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys (8-5): 96.9 Quarterback Rating

Tony Romo threw three interceptions in the Dallas Cowboys disappointing loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. With that said, only one was truly a shoddy pass.

On the season, Romo has thrown 22 touchdown passes and eleven interceptions. He has completed 211 passes in 336 attempts for 2,769 yards and a completion percentage of 62.8.

5. (5) Eli Manning, New York Giants (11-2): 90.8 Quarterback Rating

Eli Manning struggled in round two against the Philadelphia Eagles. Nevertheless, this is about the time last year when Manning finally became a 'man' when it came to leading the New York Giants.

On the season, Eli Manning has thrown 20 touchdown passes and eight interceptions. He has completed 243 passes in 398 attempts for 2,747 yards and a completion percentage of 61.1.

6. (7) Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers (5-8): 92.1 Quarterback Rating

It really does not matter how well Aaron Rodgers performs, the Packers find a way to lose. Not even Brett Favre could have saved the Packers mid season demise.

On the season, Rodgers has thrown touchdown passes and eleven interceptions. He has completed 276 passes in 434 attempts for 3,192 yards and a completion percentage of 63.6.

7. (9) Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts (9-4): 88.8 Quarterback Rating

It has been rather surprising how much Peyton Manning has flew under the radar in 2008. That may change once Manning and the Colts reach the postseason.

On the season, Peyton Manning has thrown 22 touchdown passes and twelve interceptions. He has completed 307 passes in 477 attempts for 3,225 yards and a completion percentage of 64.4.

8. (8) Chad Pennington, Miami Dolphins (8-5): 93.7 Quarterback Rating

If it were not for Kurt Warner, Chad Pennington would be the comeback quarterback of the year.

On the season, Pennington has thrown twelve touchdown passes and six interceptions. He has completed 261 passes in 393 attempts for 3,062 yards and a completion percentage of 66.4.

9. (10) Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons (8-5): 92.0 Quarterback Rating

While Michael Vick was, to some extent, exciting to watch, his self-inflicted fall from grace worked out well for the Falcons. Otherwise, Matt Ryan would be playing somewhere else.

On the season, Ryan has thrown 14 touchdown passes and only seven interceptions. He has completed 227 passes in 366 attempts for 2,940 yards and a completion percentage of 62.0.

10. (6) Brett Favre, New York Jets (8-5): 88.2 Quarterback Rating

Brett Favre has enjoyed some shining moments in his first season with Jets; however, he has been incredibly inconsistent.

On the season, Favre has thrown 20 touchdown passes and 15 interceptions. He has completed 288 passes in 421 attempts for 2,845 yards and a completion percentage of 68.4.

Did you notice how the two quarterbacks with the highest completion percentage, Kurt Warner and Brett Favre, are the two oldest quarterback in the NFL?

Also worth mentioning: Jeff Garcia, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (94.4 QB Rating); Matt Schaub, Houston Texans (93.1 QB Rating); Jay Cutler, Denver Broncos (89.2 QB Rating); Matt Cassel, New England Patriots (85.3 QB Rating); Donovan McNabb, Philadelphia Eagles (85.2 QB Rating).
