NFL Week 13 Sit/Start Fantasy Football Tight Ends and Defense

Tight Ends and Defenses You Should Start or Sit for Week 13

Chris Matteson
Start Tight Ends:

Vernon Davis: Vernon Davis is one of the top tight ends this year. He is a great target for his quarterback. He is facing a weak Seahawk defense and should do well. 60-80 yards and a TD

Brent Celek: Celek is part of a surging Philadelphia offensive game. He is facing Atlanta's defense and should perform decently against the Falcons' defense. 60-70 yards and a TD

Dallas Clark: Clark has been a dependable receiver for Manning. He is fast, strong, and has great hands. 50-70 yards and a TD

Antonio Gates: The Chargers put up big points last week against the Chiefs and should do it again this week against the Browns. 50-60 yards and a TD

Jason Witten: The Cowboys were successful moving the ball through the air last week. He is one of Romo's favorite targets. 50-60 yards and a TD

Visanthe Shiancoe: Almost a certainty that he will perform well this week. With Favre throwing the ball, he is one of the main targets. 40-50 yards and a TD

Tony Gonzalez: Redman prefers the short passes, which will make him more of a likely target. Expect 40-50 yards.

Tight Ends Sit:

Kellen Winslow: Winslow is on one of the worst teams in the league. His offense is ranked near the bottom and he is facing the Panther's defense. 30-40 yards

John Carlson: Carlson is on a low-key offense playing one of the best defenses in the league. 30-40 yards.

Heath Miller: Without Big Ben, the Steelers are going to struggle in the passing game so they will revert more to the run, putting him in for blocking. 35-45 yards.

Todd Heap: Heap is facing one of the toughest defenses in the league. 30-40 yards.

Kevin Boss: The Giant's offense struggled these last few weeks. They are playing a strong defense. 20-30 yards.

Start Defense:

Pittsburg: Pittsburg has a strong defense and is playing one of the weakest offenses in the league.

New Orleans: The Saints' defense is leading the league in interceptions and touchdowns. They should do well against the Redskins.

Cincinnati: The Bengals are playing the Lions' weak offense. Last week they only allowed 7 points to Cleveland, so this week you can expect a likewise performance.

Buffalo: Last week Buffalo's defense got the job done against Miami. This week they are facing the Jets who have about the same caliber offense.

New York Jets: The Jet's defense is set up to face Buffalo's rushing offense. They only allowed 6 points to the rushing offense of the Panthers.

Chicago: Chicago is facing St. Louis' one-dimensional offense. Because of this, they should be able to do well protecting against the run.

Philadelphia: The Eagles are playing the banged-up Falcon offense. Without Matt Ryan, the Falcons may try to switch to the run causing them to be one-dimensional

Green Bay: Green Bay's defense is on the top of its game right now. They should do pretty well against the Raven's offense.

Sit Defense:

Detroit: Detroit is playing the hyped up Cincinnati offense. They will be giving up some large numbers.

Cleveland: Cleveland is facing an offense that scored 43 points last week. They will give up some large points this week.

Washington: The Saints offense is on top of the power rankings. The Washington's defense is on the bottom of the power rankings.

Seattle: Seattle is facing San Francisco's improving offense. San Francisco should be able to fluently move the ball down field against this defense.

Other defenses you should sit: St. Louis, Atlanta, Tampa Bay, and Carolina
