#5. Shot in the dark RB replacements- For those of you who have Steven Jackson, Thomas Jones, Mcfadden, or any other running back that has a bye week, you a lot of options, but no definite ones. T.J. Duckett, Pierre Thomas, and Tim Hightower are possible running back pickups for week 5. If Chris Perry is available or Le'ron McClain you may want to pick them first, even though they don't project to get many points this week. You have two decent running back options and they sitting at #3 and #1 on this list.
#4. Steve Breaston- Cardinals WR
Breaston has come out of nowhere to be a reliable target for Kurt Warner. Anquan Boldin is most likely out this week after a bone crushing hit he suffered against the Jets. Breaston is a solid play since Kurt Warner is on fire (470 yards last week). Fitzgerald will be double teamed most of the game this sunday by Buffalo, and I would be surprised if Breaston didn't haul in 5-8 catches and a touchdown at the least.
#3. Duece McAllister- Saints RB
Duece fell off the map and suddenly he is back once again! It looked as though Duece would be cut. Instead he got 20 carries and a touchdown! Pick up Duece if you have an empty spot, Pierre Thomas still might be a keeper on your team, but if Duece is back, Thomas may be worthless.
#2. Amani Toomer- Giants WR
Plaxico Burress is suspended for week 5 against the Seahawks. Burress' loss is your gain, pick up Toomer (as I did this week) and he should pay off this week against the Seahawks in New York. Toomer is a fantastic play for any team with a WR's on bye weeks or with struggling wideouts such as Braylon Edwards, Chad Ocho Cinco etc. Play Toomer!
And the new #1 Fantasy Pickup for Week 5 is..........
#1. Mewelde Moore- Steelers RB
The former Minnesota Viking is now the starting running back for the Steelers! Since there is a lack of running backs this week, Moore is a must pickup for anyone with a bye week running back. The Steelers play the 2-2 Jaguars in week 5. Moore should see a fair amount of carries and should get a couple receptions out of the backfield. Moore probably won't have much value when Willie Parker is healthy again, but for now he is the man in Steel Town.
Others to pick up: Trent Edwards (Still only owned in 68% of leagues!), Lance Moore, Ike Hilliard
Good Luck in week 5!

Post a CommentSince monday Slaton has gone up in owned% from 55% owned to 81% owned, he is still available in a select amount of leagues. Usually I shoot for players that are under 50% owned in most leagues. Duece is 52%, Breaston is only 3%!, Toomer is up to 45% owned. Shot in the dark Rb's McClain= 41%, Pierre Thomas= 36.4%, Duckett=9.7%, and Hightower is at 43%. All percentages are taken from ESPN Fantasy football leagues this week. Thanks for reading and good luck
