NFL Week 8 Free Power Picks, Upsets, and Predictions

Who Will Be the Teams Earning You the Greatest Return and Profit in the NFL Week 8?

Forrest W. Kobayashi
The NFL has become one of the most difficult things to bet on. However, if you are looking for some solid picks, look no further than my NFL picks for Week 8! I have picked out the games that offer the most profit potential for bettors and pickers everywhere! Here is my outlook for Week 8's games:

Oakland Raiders at Baltimore Ravens (-7)

I really like the Ravens to win this matchup and beat the spread. Consider this: both offenses don't have a solid passer under center, and they have been heavily reliant on the ground game to get going. Baltimore is only giving up 66.8 rushing yards per game, and they will force JaMarcus Russell to make some throws he doesn't want to.

Power Pick: BALTIMORE (-10)

San Diego Chargers at New Orleans Saints (+3.5) - Game played in London, England

This should be an intriguing matchup just based on the fact that it will be played overseas. I like the Saints to beat the spread here, big time. New Orleans QB Drew Brees has been powering the high-powered NO offense with 310.9 pass yards/game. The Chargers secondary has been among the worst in the league, giving up 254.6 pass yards/game. Look for Brees to exploit this and have a big passing week. Even without Reggie Bush, they should still roll to a nice victory.

Power Pick: New Orleans (-3)

Kansas City at New York Jets (-11.5)

This is not even going to be close: Jets win here, big. Kansas City's offense has been abysmal, and there's no immediate improvement in sight. Not to mention, KC gives up 207.2 rush yards a game. Expect a big day from Thomas Jones and the New York Jets.

Power Pick: NEW YORK JETS (-17)

Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles (-8)

Take the Eagles here: this should be a competitive game for both teams. Led by the strong-armed Matt Ryan, the Atlanta offense has come alive. However, the Philly defense is incredibly stout, giving up only 279.3 yards per game. Look for McNabb to exploit some weaknesses in the Atlanta secondary and put up a big passing day. Philly, by at least two touchdowns.

Power Pick: PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (-14)

St. Louis Rams at New England Patriots (PICK)

Man, this is going to bring back some old memories of past Super Bowls. I really like the Rams here, and for one reason only: Jim Haslett. He has completely turned this team around, and you can see it in the players: they are getting hungry to win every Sunday they go out there. Sure, the Patriots routed the Broncos, but one game doesn't define Matt Cassel's greatness.

Power Pick: St. Louis Rams (-6)

Washington Redskins at Detroit Lions (+7.5)

After getting embarrassed by the Rams and looking flat against the Browns, expect the Redskins to regain their swagger against a poor Detroit Lions squad. Washington doesn't give up much against the run or the pass, but the Detroit front four and linebackers are going to get torched by Clinton Portis. Portis runs for a hundred and two scores, and the 'Skins win big time.

Power Pick: WASHINGTON (-14)
