As summer slowly rolls away, and as the players start to lace up their skates for a new season 2K sports has been busy unraveling a new treat for hockey fans on the Wii console, 2K11. It is surely better than it's predecessor 2K10, with the added MotionPlus expansion device now on the Wii, your controls will defiantly be livelier. Unfortunately though, sometimes the controls are still a bit flimsy and frustrating, but once you get a hang of it it'll be worth your time!
Now onto the NEW features and specifications..
With the newly added game mode "Road to the Cup", is a multiplayer type of mode where you can control your Mii (interactively) to play against each other in mini games, trivia challenges, and skill challenges.
You can now play multiplayer online with 4 of your friends in the mode TeamUp for a 5 on 5, online match which is very, very laggy. As for communication between teammates use WiiSpeak with your 4 friends!
Another new feature that gamers will like is the improved "Authentic Gameplay" and "Enhanced Graphics". The gameplay now has added in and optimized skating (more responsive), improved AI, and plenty more in store. As for the graphics the player models have been revamped, arenas have been redesigned to look even better with highly detailed jersey sweaters this game will sure be much more realistic and life like.
Overall Rating and Impressions..
Overall, NHL 2K11 has stepped it up big time from NHL 2K10, but it still may be frustrating to control your players even with the re-designed and improved controls. The enhanced graphics are as good as they get for the Wii. To me, getting this game would be simply preference on a company, EA or 2K? That is up for yourself to ponder on as NHL 11 reaches stores at 09/07/10 on the Xbox 360 and PS3 shelves at your local gaming store.
Rating: 3.5/5 (Why? Controls)
