Justin Tyme on the River Family Restaurant is one of the hidden gems for dining in Niagara Falls. The selection of dining choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner makes it difficult to choose just one of the popular homemade dishes and specialties. The prices are affordable, and the portions are generous at Justin Tyme Restaurant, making this Niagara Falls restaurant a great place to dine.

The Dining Atmosphere

The Nascar theming at Justin Tyme Family Restaurant makes this restaurant a place for sports fans and families alike to enjoy. Nascar hats, banners, and racing memorabilia decorate the inside of the restaurant. The casual atmosphere offers several booths and tables for diners, as well as an outdoor patio overlooking the Niagara River. Singles also have a counter seating option. Though the restaurant is often busy, it never feels crowded.

The Menu

Justin Tyme Family Restaurant offers so many different specialties that it is often difficult to choose just one. Fish fry Fridays are one of the most popular days at Justin Tyme, as a generous sized haddock is offered in the tasty beer battered, baked, or Italian seasoned versions. At lunchtime, the fish fry is only $6.99, with the full-sized dinner portion priced at $8.99, including a side, cole slaw, and bread and butter.

Unique burgers, sandwiches, baskets, wraps, Victory Lap Dinners, salads, Buffalo wings, and appetizers are the main lunch and dinner menu items. The Beef on Weck is a favorite, served piled high on a fresh bakery bun. Sweet potato fries are another specialty at Justin Tyme Family Restaurant, made to perfection with a drizzling of honey butter. Draft and bottled beer is served at Justin Tyme Family Restaurant for those who enjoy a cold one with dinner.

The breakfast menu offers all the traditional favorites, such as eggs, omelets, pancakes, and french toast. What makes the breakfast at Justin Tyme Family Restaurant stand out is the homemade quality about each breakfast plate. The prices are well under the going rate at chain restaurants such as Denny's or Perkins, and the quality is so much better.

The Dining Experience

Justin Tyme Family Restaurant is a locals' favorite restaurant, and as such, I have dined here many times. The service starts when you walk in the door and are greeted by a host, and then usually promptly seated at a booth or table of your choice. The outdoor dining is a nice experience in the warmer months, allowing you to enjoy some good food, fresh air, and a close up view of the Niagara River. The hardest part of dining at Justin Tyme is sometimes deciding on which favorite entree to order.

Service is usually moderately fast, depending on how busy the restaurant is, and the food quality is excellent. The homemade dishes and fresh preparation of each entree adds to the dining experience. At the end of the meal, a few take home mints are given to guests.

Location

Justin Tyme Family Restaurant is located at 7611 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, New York. The location is easy to access from either the downtown or Factory Outlet (LaSalle/Town of Niagara) areas of the city. A full menu is listed on the website at www.justintymeontheriver.com.

I usually love this place, but my last few times here have changed my mind. It was a Friday night so I understand that it was busy, but to be skipped in line for my table twice is unacceptable. The wait staff was totally confused and it took forever just to get our drinks. Our waitress was very unorganized, and although she was some what friendly it did not make up for her slow service, at one point I began to feel bad for her because she was so lost working here. The only thing that will keep me going back is the food.
