If you have never been to Niagawww.associatedcontent.com/article/64248/why_you_should_visit_niagara_falls.htmlra Falls, it's worth the trip. If Niagara Falls conjures up images in your head of cheesy honeymoons, push them aside and go. Make the trip. Niagara is an easy drive and a wonderful vacation. Traffic isn't bad anywhere. It's nothing like your typical vacation area. We stayed on the U.S. side at a Comwww.associatedcontent.com/article/256054/what_hotel_chains_have_the_most_pet.htmlfort Inn, which was very convenient to the Falls, decent and affordable, with a very nice full breakfast buffet included. It wasn't quite as nice as it looked on the website, though. In fact, there was a lot of construction going on around town when we were there last summer, so nothing looked as good as it appears on the website, except for the Falls. The Falls are truly magnificent and the area is easy to wander around and there's enough to do for a short trip. The Falls at night were amazing. The colored lights shining on the water is spectacular. Be sure to check the schedule for the fireworks over the falls. You can view this from either side. You spend the evening walking throught the park, have dinner and then get to the Falls in time to enjoy the Falls, illuminated and the fireworks. You get all of this for free !

It's easy to walk across Rainbow Bridge from the U.S. to Canawww.associatedcontent.com/article/217996/a_guide_to_working_in_canada.htmlda, so you can stay on either side and have a great time. However, the Canadian side is much nicer and there's more to do and see. The Canadian side is also more expensive, so be prepared. It seems like everything is Canada has a kind of double tax and it will shock you if you aren't prepared. There's a GST "goods and services tax" which is a 6% federal tax. There is also a PST "provincial sales tax" of 8%. The are provisions for returning a portion of the GST to visitors, but it's complicated and requires a certain level of spending. In a nutshell, be prepared to tack on 13% to your purchases. So we stayed in the U.S. and then spent a good deal of time walking around the Canadian side.

You can't go to the Falls without experiencing the Maid of the Mist. This boat trip around and under the Falls is great fun and gives you the feeling of the magnitude and strength of the Falls. You are given a poncho to wear if you want to stay dry, and most people wear the ponwww.associatedcontent.com/article/90664/what_to_bring_to_a_track_meet.htmlcho. It was hot on the day we went so we left the poncho off and enjoyed the breeze and the mist. The best thing about the Niagara Falls area is that you can do plenty without spending a fortune. Walking around the park and over the bridges and through the towns on both sides is essentially free and the amazing sites really give it a vacation feel. Some of the other sites you'll want to check out are the

If you are looking for a way to enjoy the summer, get away from the beawww.associatedcontent.com/user/79541/veronica_shannon.htmlch traffic, consider Niagara Falls.
