Nick Saban, Head Coach of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, Continues the Legacy

Pat Bartels
Nick Saban has been a head football coach since 1990 when he was the coach of the Toledo Rockets of Toledo University. Coach Saban has had a very successful coaching career. He has won two National Championships, three SEC Championships, five SEC Western Division Championships, and many coaching awards throughout the years.

Winning both the SEC and BCS titles is a testamont of the Coaches dedication to the University of Alabama and his players. This parralles the revered and beloved Alabama Head Coach Bear Bryant's record of winning an SEC Championship at two different schools. Both are winning head coaches.

Coach Saban and the University of Alabama are well matched. Both have a tradition of winning, pride, and class. Coach Saban is the highest paid coach in college football. The University of Alabama has an 8 year contract with him that is worth $32 million. He has demonstrated with his BCS National Championship that he and the University have made the right choice.

You have to admire Coach Saban because he, not only coaches winning football teams, but he also inspires his players to be serious about their education. He encourages his players to be active members of the community by being involved in community projects.

It's obvious that the Coach believes in discipline, and making sure that the team is focused on their goals. After Alabama won the SEC Championship it was Mark Ingram who ran up to the coach with a chest bump. Last years' season also saw the University of Alabama's first Heisman Tropy winner, Mark Ingram. When Mark Ingram was named as the Heisman winner Coach Saban was there. When Ingram was announced as the winner he hugged his family and Coach Saban before he stepped to the podium to receive his trophy. You could see the pride that the Coach had for his player. Even with all of these distractions the Coach and the team stayed focused on the National Championship. They weren't satisfied with one title

Coach Saban has said, "The legacy of Alabama football certainly had a void filled," when speaking of Mark Ingrams' Heisman Tropy award. The Alabama Crimson Tide has also had a void filled when the University hired Nick Saban. Coach Saban has brought back the winning legacy that Alabama has enjoyed in the past. This is only the beginning of Coach Saban's Alabama legacy. ROLLTIDE.

He proved what a scumbag he is with the Dolphins but he is a great coach.

The football program brings in many millions more than Coach Sabans salary. I think that college football especially on Alabamas level makes a lot of money for the University.

Wow, $32 million for a college coach. No wonder tuition is so expensive. He sounds like a very successful guy.

Any coach who didn't believe in discipline - wasn't a winning coach! Cheers, Pat :)
