Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2009: Will Ferrell Sets Slip N' Slime World Record

Nickelodeon is celebrating its 30^th anniversary as the number one kids entertainment brand and on Saturday, the Nickelodeon's 2009 Kids' Choice Awards were announced after a record setting 90 million kid votes were cast at http://www.nick.com and at Nick's new mobile website wap.nick.com. On the same night the world turned out its lights for Earth Hour (8:30 pm ET), Leonardo DiCaprio was awarded the first Nickelodeon Big Green Help Award by Cameron Diaz for his extensive work on environmental causes.

Leonardo DiCaprio was the global chairperson for Earth Day 2000 and in 1998 he started the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation to broaden awareness for environmental issues. DiCaprio is on the board of Global Green USA and the Big Green Help partner, Natural Resources Defense Council. This year for Earth Day on April 22, Nickelodeon will shut off power for 60 seconds at 9 pm ET in honor of the over 2 million kids who have pledged to protect the Earth. During the Nickelodeon 2009 Kids' Choice Awards, hosted by Dwayne Johnson, Will Ferrell set a world record by gliding 200 feet across green goo for the first Nick Slip n' Slime celebrity stunt (click here to see video). The Jonas Brothers who won the Nick KCA for Favorite Music Group got slimed with more green goo than ever before (click here to see video). Paula Abdul and David Archuleta accepted the Nickelodeon 2009 Kids' Choice Award for American Idol, voted Favorite Reality Show (click here to see video). Will Smith received the orange blimp for Favorite Movie Actor and Vanessa Hudgens won for Favorite Movie Actress. The 2009 KCA Burp Award goes to Rico from The Penguins of Madagascar.
