Nicklaus Golf Dual Point Driver Review

Nicklaus Golf has been around for a number of years now. They have had some highs and lows and seem to be in Limbo right now with the state of their brand. They are making some very good stuff right now for all types of players, but at the same time and for whatever reason, nobody is paying them any attention. I got a chance to spend some time indoors and outdoors with their new designs from last season and really liked what I saw and hit. The reason I could not hit all of them outdoors and instead in a simulator was because nobody has them anywhere! If they are carried, it is in limited quantities.

The Nicklaus Golf Dual Point Driver features several game improvement features that every golfer will appreciate. The main feature to this driver is its multi-layered face design. The face is thinner around the perimeter of the club and thicker towards the center creating a very high trampoline effect with the maximum C.O.R. and maximum C.O.T (face flex) allowed by the USGA. The Dual Point Driver features a 460cc head with a 14 gram weight plug placed deep inside the club head for the optimal high launch, low spin ball flight that works best with todays balls.

The look of this club at address is what I like the best! It looks very traditional for its large size and its black head is sweet to look down at! I could feel the technology when I hit the ball with this club. The ball just jumped off the face the very first time I hit it. I hit it dead on the center of the club and the ball took off like a rocket. I later found that this club is also very forgiving thanks to micro welding technology used by Nicklaus Golf which makes for cleaner welds thus, saving weight to be able to move around the perimeter of the club for even more forgiveness.

I was thankfully able to work the ball with this club. It was easy to do really as I was a little worried that all the technology in this clean, classical shaped driver would only allow for the high, straight shot. The Dual Point Driver was easy to shape and still went long no matter how I flighted the ball.

If you are a serious golfer looking for a change from the other large companies, I suggest you take a second look at Nicklaus Golf!
